Landmark hiring - MTila

I have worked for Landmark for almost 2 years.  It was good at first but for about 6 months now I have very little work.  I keep being told that it should pick up, lots of vacations, someone had surgery, etc., but really all of my bills are behind at this point and I have to move on.  I go to look for a job and see that Landmark is hiring for 3 different accounts on the job seekers board.  I emailed K**** and asked her if she could move me over to one of those accounts and I didn't get a response.  I emailed her again and asked her if maybe she could just move me temporarily until my account picks up and still no response.

I don't understand what is going on, because at Landmark they don't do QA audits, but any time I have left a blank in my report, K**** hasn't been able to fill it in either, it goes to the client that way.  I have never had any type of problems, never told there was a problem with my work or anything.  Do you think maybe I did something that I don't know about and they want me to quit?  It is very upsetting to me that after being dedicated to a company for almost 2 years they would rather hire new people than to help find me a place to fit in.

Same thing basically happened to me. I personally have no idea why they do the things they do. One thing might possibly be that K does everything there and she is stretched so thin that I'm not even sure she knows how many MTs she has or what accounts they are on or even when work begins to go away?

I worked for 5 years and it had gotten to the point where I barely had work. I found another job, but kept that one because I actually enjoyed working on Bayscribe and I used it for just some extra spending money. I never had work and had quite a few emails where I had asked K about it and sometimes a vague response, sometimes no response. One day, I went to work and was locked out of my account. I emailed K and asked her what had happened and she said my line count had been too low, so she locked me out. I told her my line count was low, because there was NO WORK, just like I had emailed her about. She said that wasn't true, there was "plenty of work." I'm not sure if she was just lying or if there was a system problem or if she was confused and locked the wrong person out, because I had emails where I was constantly asking her for more work. She had also never emailed me or called or anything about my reduced line counts, so I thought it was understood that I wasn't typing because the lines weren't there.

I thought about emailing the owner and telling her about it, but figured it wasn't worth it, I wasn't making enough money or anything there and basically was only staying because I liked the platform, so I just took it for what it was and no longer worked there after FIVE WHOLE YEARS of employment with them.

I loved my job with them. I was doing the type of reports that I loved to do and had my own schedule again. After over 10 years of working for a national that I wasn't happy with, it finally felt like when I first started MT and loved what I was doing. I never had any complaints about my work from K. Like you, whatever blanks I had in my reports she couldn't fill in either. At first the work was steady and then it slowly started dwindling down until one day I was locked out of Bayscribe. I had asked and asked to be moved to different accounts and never got an answer. I came on here that same day and saw an ad for the account I had been working on! I was part-time and they were hiring for full-time. How could they have full-time work for that account when I was barely getting any lines part-time? I was logging in to work all through-out the day trying to get lines. I emailed and asked K that very question and never got an answer.

I know there are MTs on here that love working for them and have plenty of work. I loved them too until I was suddenly without any work and locked out without an explanation. The only complaint I ever had about them was that it was hard to get anyone to answer any emails. They could be a very good company to work for if they would stop over-hiring and put the loyal MTs that do work for them on other accounts.

I worked there a year, never anything said to me whatsoever. When my work started decreasing I never asked about it, because I had read this board and I kind of expected that and had only taken the job as supplemental income. One day, went to go to work and was locked out of Bayscribe. I emailed K and asked her what was wrong and she said she didn't know that she would check with "her supervisor" and find out. Later, I was no longer locked out of Bayscribe and again transcribed what I got, no big line counts or anything. A few weeks later, I again went to go to work and was locked out again. I emailed K again and she said again, she didn't know, but would check. She never got back to me and I never was able to get back in. I sent her maybe 3 more emails over the course of the week asking if she had figured out what was going on with Bayscribe and I never even got an answer, so I honestly have no idea what happened there. I also had never gotten any reprimands on my work, I did all work that was available, when a blank was left, she left it as well. I never got any type of separation notice, so to this day I don't know if I was fired, laid off, if I supposedly quit or what happened with that job.

Pretty much me too, luckily I had another company I was working for at the same time and now give them all my time - The only thing I can figure out is they want to hire at less than what they were paying us all and figure we don't want to take another pay cut (which would be right for me). I do have another business on the side I'm doing too at home to supplement my MT work, so hoping that picks up. Wouldn't count on any 1 company now for work no matter how good they are. I was over 5 years as well. All I will say is very deceptive, loved it there and then BAM. Found out it happened to others. There are no loyalties.

I worked for Landmark last year for about 8 or 9 months and loved it at first. I had the freedom of a totally flexible schedule and plenty of work, and no one ever bothered me. I took it on as a second/supplemental job for when my full-time job was low on work. I absolutely loved it at first and was making pretty good money doing a work type that I loved. After the first few months went by, work started slowly becoming less and less. I emailed K, even instant messaged her a few times, but never got responses. I asked why there was so little work on my account all of a sudden when there used to be more than enough and asked her if she had another account I could help out on until mine picked back up. Nothing. Landmark had all kinds of ads running at the time looking to hire for all these accounts, yet I couldn't even get K to respond to me and move me to one of the busier accounts that they were hiring for. It made no sense. I was a hard working, high producing, dependable employee and never had been reprimanded for anything whatsoever. I finally gave up and just stopped logging in and I never even heard from K asking me where I was. It's like she either didn't notice that I quit or just flat out didn't care. Luckily, it was only a second job for me and I now work for a local company where I am overwhelmed with work, so Landmark is history for me. They seem like a very unorganized company and I think K is extremely overwhelmed since she pretty much runs the entire company all by herself. I don't even know what A does. I think she handles payroll, but I'm fairly sure that's it. It seems that K is running the entire show. I would not recommend them. They are very unstable and have horrible communication!

I worked for Landmark way back in the day before K became the head of everything and she was only QA. I must say that I had even read bad reviews on them on this board then, about how the owner "A" didn't care about the business, cared more about her dogs than the business, etc., but I never found that to be true. I felt like "A" was very good at communicating with the MTs, let us know when they lost an account, when they were getting a new account, etc.

When K all of a sudden became "in charge" nothing was even said about it. "A" stopped answering emails and if you did ask her something, the response would come from K. I noticed her signature line in her emails changed from QA to "operations manager" or something like that, but yet they kept her in the QA position as well. It is obvious that either she had way too much on her plate, or she wasn't quite qualified to run a business, but either way, that is when the company went down the tubes.

I stayed on for a while after that and it was just as the above posters said. No work for weeks at a time with no response to emails, no explanation, no offer of being placed on a new account, even though they were still hiring. I stuck it out longer than I should have, because I thought "A" would see what a mess Landmark was becoming and take her business back, but that never happened while I was there and it seems it hasn't even happened to this day.

Those who ARE happy there, apparently they were fortunate enough to be placed on some good, solid accounts and hopefully that stays the case for them. As operations manager, when an account does get lost, K should evaluate where her current MTs are placed, who isn't making line counts, etc., and strategically place them around for the new accounts, BUT unfortunately she takes the easy way out and just re-hires for the new account coming on board, rather than spending extra hours researching. I'm not personally blaming her, I doubt honestly that she has the time to do any more than she does.

Wow, that was my exact story. I also just stopped logging in and never even heard a word from them, after 6 years of being an employee there. I never received any type of separation notice or anything. I'm not sure if they noticed I didn't work there anymore or thought I had died or something, who knows, but I got tired of the no answers when I was asking what happened to the accounts I was working on.

Years ago, someone had posted something negative on this board about LM. The owner sent out an email to all, stating that person was a disgruntled employee, nothing she said on this board was true and she even explained what had actually happened, according to her. She told us if we had any questions or concerns about the post on here that we were free to email her privately or call her and she would clear that up.

That was maybe 7 or 8 years ago, I think. Since that time, I have seen first hand that most said about them on this company is true. Also, since that time I have never received another email from her or K defending anything on this board. It's like they gave up caring or something. I'm not saying they HAVE to defend anything, but to defend one negative comment and not defend dozens of negative comments, that's just odd.

is pretty much a bitch-fest, at least it is some sort of contact with other MTs... oh excuse me... MLS.  I have never worked at a place where there was so little contact, no feedback, no sense of teamwork.  Yes, too much oversight with TLs hovering over you is oppressive and you may say... that's okay, I'd like that, just leave me alone to do my work... but really, it's tough to feel totally isolated, anyone agree?   ...
