Landmark IC question - curious MT

Could someone please give me an idea about how much per line is the average with this company if you are an IC - they, of course, would not tell me. I just wanted some idea of how much to ask for or charge them for just straight typing and no VR. TIA.

I don't know how to answer your question, but I will tell you that although the company on the whole is comprised of very nice people, they have a lot of overflow accounts and run out of work quite frequently. I'd keep them as more of a backup/part-time IC position and keep seeking something a bit more reliable for your primary income. I also had a primary account that was overflow only, and the sound quality on it was absolutely atrocious no matter what I did becaues of the re-recording. I thought I was going to need hearing aids after working on that account for a couple of months.

Apparently, other MTs do not have the problem of a shortage of work on their accounts; however, if I were you, I would clarify with LM if the account(s) you are being assigned to are overflow or they actually have the account. If it's overflow, you'll find yourself chained to your computer 24/7 waiting to catch enough jobs to get your lines in.

of work almost daily. They totally overstaff because it isn't anything to them. They stay in turnaround and don't care who gets the lines. You will struggle daily to get even 1000 lines. Now, Black Swan, we all know you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this company and have never had this problem, so you are the exception I guess or management which consists of 1 person. However, this would just be a guess because there is NO commnication except with the QA person at all. Does anyone know how many people work for this company, or how many accounts they actually have. Please, after a year, some insight into this situation would be nice because I can't get a straight answer after a year. I have begged and begged for work to no avail and spend all day trying to get lines in. Most companies have problems keeping MTs working their schedules, in this case MT are struggling to get work. In the early morning, there is a rush to get it done, and by 10-11 am you ARE DONE! P.S. VR is totally outrageous and near impossible with this company!

AND, even as an IC you don't tell them how much you will "charge", they tell you how much they will pay you. That's how it works these days apparently.

Thought they offered only employee status? Where was an ad for IC?

They advertise as employee but when they offer you a position - SM

They will inform you that it's cheaper for you to get your own benefits because their costs are enormous and you can find a personal policy cheaper; hence, you would probably end up taking an IC position with them becaues it's an extra 2 cpl, I believe.

I just saw an ad on the job seeker's board for Landmark stating they are hiring for VR because their account is switching to VR. Does anyone know if this is across the board for Landmark? is pretty much a bitch-fest, at least it is some sort of contact with other MTs... oh excuse me... MLS. I have never worked at a place where there was so little contact, no feedback, no sense of teamwork. I worked for Landmark a while ago. Sorry for all the problems the current MTs are having. Have the owners come up with a solution about the insurance issue? Just a thought, but you might try calling your local state representative's office and asking about COBRA and/or an insurance plan run by your state that covers children.
