Check the archives. Lots of information. This company has minimal work ALL the time. Nice QA person. Can't possible work there full time and make a living. Period.

I've worked for Landmark since November of last year. Make a very good living with them. The only times I've run out of work is around the holidays when everyone is slow. Doctors take vacations, too.

Company is great. QA is awesome. Can't say enough good about them.

I have worked for Landmark for 2+ years and am very happy there. I DO work fulltime, am able to meet my financial needs (I am the breadwinner here). The owners are honest and decent people. Pay is always on time and accurate to the penny. QA is best I have ever seen, very kind and thorough. High standards, but very patient and humane. ALL companies from the biggest to the smallest, go through slow seasons. It is the nature of the profession. Landmark is no different from any other company in that regard, no better, no worse. I would join the person above who said she would be a LM cheerleader if she could. And no, I am not management (nor do I want to be). I am simply a lowly MT, who at long last has found a company I can respect. I actually get up in the morning WANTING to go to work. That ought to tell you something. I say, give Landmark a try. I can recommend it!

Didn't Landmark just recently lay some people off? Thought I read that not too long ago on this site?

Great company, nice people, seems to be plenty of work. They seem to pay higher than other companies on this board both for VR and straight transcription. I would would give it a shot if I were you.

Nice people, but low/no work and poor communication. nm - Anon

Worked there for a few months. They had tons of work but what was really stupid was they said they check all work before sending to client and not just because you are a newbie. No wonder they had so much work, they were so busy checking all work they could not keep up which really defeated the purpose of hiring good MTs.

My advice, for whatever it is worth - do not apply. I worked for them for also a year. When I was hired they put me on an account that was behind, so there was plenty of work for about 2 months at the most, then it slowly started drying up. When I would ask questions, I got varied answers. I was hired for a full-time position so I assumed they needed me full-time, but I almost starved to death trying to make a living here! It was feast or famine, constantly! I suppose they got tired of me asking for work because one morning I tried to log in and go to work only to find I had been "locked out" and could no longer access my account! I emailed my QA person and the owners and have NEVER heard from any of them to this day! No explanation at all! That has been over 3 months ago! Needless to say, I had to find another job! Is this any way to run a business? I hardly think so!! I have been a MT for over 16 years and found it appalling that they would treat anyone this way and I have to agree with one of the other posters here - their communication is TERRIBLE! I've heard, but could never verify it, that they have no accounts of their own; that they take on overflow accounts and I'd have to say in my experience with them that certainly seemed to be the case since the work dried up so quickly and they couldn't seem to find me any more!

I have to completely agree with this...sm - Anon

I worked with them for a while, though from the very beginning there were always lots of small problems (what company doesn't so I stuck it out). Until one day I was locked out of my account. I emailed and was told there was no work available (yet there were ads on here that they were hiring full time people!). I've since looked in the archives here and have read that they've done this to many people (locking people out of the system). The way that whole thing happened and their lack of communication to multiple emails, they were IMO very unprofessional.

LANDMARK'S LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM! - Marilyn

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm glad to know I'm not the only person this happened to (getting locked out of the system). I was so shocked because I had never experienced anything of this sort before. Even though there may not be any work, to refuse to communicate this to your MTs either by email, IM or phone is the height of poor management and tells me they don't think much of the people they hire. Such unprofessionalism, in my humble opinion is inexcusable and the best reason I can think of NOT to work for Landmark. Most likely this will happen to anyone that works for them eventually if the account you are working on runs out of work.
Give it a rest, Marilyn - Just me

It seems that you have an unhealthy fixation with bashing Landmark. You have been doing this for quite some time, and it seems that you are developing an unhealthy fixation with this. If things did not work out for you there (and there is undoubtedly another side of the story), why not just move on and do something more to your liking? There are a lot of other companies out there. Maybe you should spend your time applying to them? I know many people who work for Landmark (myself included) who think it is the best company in the world. If it's not the right place for you (for whatever reason), fine. Move on. Find something that is. You are achieving nothing with your constant whining and complaining. It's getting old. Give it a rest, already.
GET A LIFE! - Marilyn

I hardly think 2 posts here can be considered whining and complaining dear and for your information, I moved on a long time ago or I would have starved to death!! I could care less about Landmark so why don't you stop the unkind posts and not harrass people here! It's not like I'm the only person who ever had a problem with Landmark,(read the old posts), so I have NO idea why you're singling me out, but you're the one who needs to lay off and move on. The truth is the truth!
Marilyn...I emailed you! :) nm - Anon

After the flurry of posts on this board this week regarding Landmark and then doing more research on my own in the archives on Landmark, I have decided to move on.  I am an employee of Landmark also.  I believe where there is smoke, there is fire to follow.  I have not seen what others are saying, but the lack of communication I have experienced and I am a person who do not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.  So,  I am finding another job and I suggest everyone on th ...

For anyone who works at Landmark, I was just wondering how long is the norm for being on 100% QA? I've exceed my 90-day period and am still on 100% QA. Most of my reports come back clean with exception of a period or an a/an, or something simple along those lines. ...

Landmark Job Ad
Oct 09, 2011

Does anyone know if the job ad Landmark posted recently (oncology) is a new account for them? I have read on here so many posts about how the MTs there say they don't have enough work and was wondering if this account is a new one so there actually would be work to do? I would like to apply but don't want to waste my time if there isn't enough work in the first place.  Thanks for your help. ...

Landmark posting for radiology jobs?  I work for them and barely have any work.  Please look at the people you already have hired before you hire more.  That's why people don't stay.  I'd love to work there full time, but this has become my part time, back up account because I'm making so little money.  So frustrating.  Who else is working there currently for radiology?  I'd love to hear from you.  ...

is pretty much a bitch-fest, at least it is some sort of contact with other MTs... oh excuse me... MLS.  I have never worked at a place where there was so little contact, no feedback, no sense of teamwork.  Yes, too much oversight with TLs hovering over you is oppressive and you may say... that's okay, I'd like that, just leave me alone to do my work... but really, it's tough to feel totally isolated, anyone agree?   ...

I worked for Landmark a while ago.  Sorry for all the problems the current MTs are having.  Have the owners come up with a solution about the insurance issue?  Just a thought, but you might try calling your local state representative's office and asking about COBRA and/or an insurance plan run by your state that covers children.  You may also have a county agency that can give you information about insurance coverage.  Of note, the COBRA payment is usually the ent ...
