Not the best company to work for. They have the owner and she is a VERY "silent" owner, she doesn't seem concerned with anything. They have the head QA supervisor and she is REALLY DIFFICULT to work for. She does QA in a very "rude" fashion, making VERY rude comments, which she sends a cc to the boss as well. She is crazy with puncutation and will actually make your QA score very low on punctuation alone. Many times I would question a change she made and I never would get a direct response on what the problem was. She would always say "I will look into it" and I would never get a response and never a change to my low QA scores.
They have another QA person and she is WONDERFUL and it bothers her how the QA boss treats others as well. The QA supervisor will restrict your work, due to QA (OVER PUNCTUATION!!!) and the second QA person will basically "sneak" the work to you. She will say they are swamped and she will send you the work and just check over your work.
I worked there 8 years and this was a constant thing for 8 year! My work would get restricted, then unrestricted, then restricted, etc. It is clinic work, same 10 dictators the whole 8 years, I mean come one, if I was seriously such a bad transcriptionist that I couldn't grasp 10 dictators in 8 years, then I should have been fired, not had to quit myself. Just too many crazy games from a very immature (in my opinion) QA supervisor who is on a power trip.
If still there after 8 years, that is saying something - .

now does it not. If so bad, they would have let you go, RIGHT? Just power trip as you said.

Could that be the big "C"? Yeah, power trip for sure...
That would be right:) - JL

The bad thing is, she wasn't so bad when her title was just QA, but then they went and added another title on there (I forgot exactly what it was), but GEEEEEZZZZ things REALLY went down the toilet then, that chick got CRRRAAAZZZYYY, lol, glad to be gone:)

Golden Opportunity For Hospitals Right Now! Nov 11, 2010 As we all know, thanks to the way most MTSOs operate, there is currently a glut of experienced, talented, highly-qualified MTs who are looking for something better than just a chickenfeed job at a national.
Some hospitals have begun to question the quality of work they're getting back from the nationals (and the HIPAA compliance), since ever-increasing amounts of the work those nationals have is getting offshored.

Offshore Transcription Stories Wanted- Medical Malpractice Cases Related To Offshore Transcription M Oct 15, 2009A legal contact was inquiring about the connection of medical mistakes related to off-shored transcription mistakes. I have told him to review these boards and hopefully he will benefit from the information here.
While he did not discuss the exact case, I think that he will be able to use the off-shore transcription issue to his client's benefit or at least highlight that the provider in question does not have as rigorous control on processing records as other pr ...

GET OUT OF TRANSCRIPTION May 17, 2010Since the advent of voice recognition and overseas outsourcing, transcription has ceased to be a profession. I will NEVER -- repeat, NEVER make the money I was making as a transcriptionist at a hospital 5 years ago, before we were replaced by VR and cheap outsourcing to India. Now all that's left are transcription companies here in the U.S. that don't want to pay much more, lie to us and tamper with our line counts. GET OUT, GET OUT OF TRANSCRIPTION! ...
A Day Without Transcription? May 28, 2010It seems that everyone has negative things to say about how employers do not pay MTs what they're worth and how they offshore the easy stuff, but pile on the lousy ESL stuff on the transcriptionists in the States. Too bad there can't be a general strike of U.S. MTs - a day without transcription - just to show how we're needed. It seems to be the only thing employers would understand.
Impossible, I know, but I bet employers would sit up and take notice. ...

DIT Transcription... Oct 22, 2010If anyone, especially brand new rookie transcriptionists, get a job offer from DIT transcription, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! I have worked there for about 3 months now and have yet to be paid. They will not return my calls or emails regarding this (but they return promptly when I have a question about a dictation) and when the owner, ****, did finally email me back, he said the check was in the mail, and of course, it wasn't. J&M Transcription Oct 23, 2010Wow, did anybody read their ad? It is so full of DO NOT requests--do not call me, do not say you will do the work and then not do it, do not do this, do not do that, etc. I wonder if someone applying for the job included an equal number of DO NOTS for the MTSO if he or she would respond? I am thankful that I already have a good job. I would not want to work for anyone who is so negative in an ad. If it is this bad in an ad, how is s/he in person? She fails to ...

ROI TRANSCRIPTION Dec 17, 2010Don't work for this company. They are extremely picky. One person tells you to do it one way, another tells you differently. They tell you to leave blanks for another to listen to (that's what we want!) but then complain that you are leaving blanks. No one can hear some of the poor dictators and you need to leave a blank. If you decide to try to fill in the blank, you are wrong too. I am a very experienced transcriptionist to have been treated this p ...
