Do you think we need a dedicated LAID-OFF / BOUGHT-OUT Board here - Wondering

What do you guys think about asking the Moderators to set up a LAID-OFF / BOUGHT-OUT Board?  

 

Seems like every month or so an MTSO is either bought by someone or there is a large layoff or firing and everyone comes to the Company Board to commiserate.  It seems like the poor people who come to the Company Board to actually get information on an MTSO get lost in the sea of “They Did What?” comments.

 

Also, some people read a post and the devil takes over their fingers, forcing them to make some preposterous statement, which sends the whole post into another tangent, sometimes never to return to the original comment or question.  If there was a separate Board for people who wanted information about a layoff or buyout, then those fly-by-night posters can stay off that Board and hopefully, the rest of the people who are actually involved can continue to help each other through their personal trauma, without having to read hundreds of unrelated posts. 

What do you think?  Is it worth a shot to ask?

When a company does something that hurts the entire MT industry, it is newsworthy and I want it posted front and center. The word needs to get out and this is our only way of communicating with each other.

If you look back through the history you will see there are long chains about a particular company whenever they do something that affects each of us as MTs. We need to know the trends that these companies are following so that we can be prepared with our own Plan B.

You will also notice in the history that after a few days the furor dies down and the normal MT buzz resumes. This is the normal life cycle of a thread and we need them to stay here so that we can all be informed.

People lose jobs; they get angry; they say bad things about their former employer - What else is new?

People always get mad when they get fired or laid off. It's always the employer's fault. The employer is always evil.

There's a search function if someone is searching for information on a specific company. I'm not having any problem browsing to posts that aren't involving Webmedx, either, and I doubt others are.

MQ will not lay us off, they just do EVERYTHING - to make us quit. Because

It would ruin them since they tell their clients this, the government, hospitals, the people who do their future charts and the schools that produce more MTs.

A few hysterical people hijack the board for weeks whenever someone loses their job. I've lost a job before. We've probably all lost jobs before, and it was a slap in the face, but the hysterics are not healthy.

I suspect that there are others who lost jobs in this instance who are quietly reevaluating all their options and moving on. My thoughts, prayers, and good wishes are with them that they will find positions that will be a great fit for them so they will be able to work and be happy.

As for the hysterical bunch, I wish them the best too.
