I see Diskwriter has 2 job openings, straight typing ... at 5.5 cpl. Are they kidding? Only 5.5 cpl? Good luck filling that one.

That the cost of living in the US compares to India and thinking we will be grateful for such high wages :( It seems like there really should be a way to stop this horrendous trend of pay DECREASES - I haven't had a raise in 10 years, now they want us to work for even less?!?! It's insane.

stating exactly what I think of this job ad to this clown Thomas What's His Nuts who's doing the hiring. Are they kidding 5.5 cpl????? We'd probably make more than that at a T-shirt factory in India. I heard Diskriter is a sucky place to work anyways let alone for 5.5 cpl. Come on now. The sad thing is, someone will apply. And they'll hire them, and that's what keeps this snowball from hell rolling.

in the future, when one of these companies finally hits the 0 cpl mark pay level (and you know it WILL happen someday) there will be any suckers that will work for them solely for "experience". Or worse, even PAY for the privilege.

Unfortunately, my money is on YES.

then the industry "standard" will be set because other companies will see they get suckers to work for such a low wage. Sad times here. I hope, though, that everyone applying says something like "I'm sure you had a typo and meant more than that per line."

People need jobs and keep accepting lower and lower pay, driving the wages downward. sm - I agree

I understand the sentiment that you have to work and you have to support your family, but I also believe that at some point you have to draw a line in the sand and say I will not accept anything lower than this. I never thought I'd see 7 cpl offered, much less 6 cpl, and now this pitiful 5.5 cpl. I still have an IC job that pays 9 cpl, but when you factor in self employment tax and all of that, I do not make a great deal of money either. Sad.

Makes no difference that I know of to the dictator. Doesn't save him or her any money. I have been an MT for 8 years before moving up to the MME position recently. I told myself that I would never nitpick as I experienced in the past. I still hold true to that. We are to only fill in the blanks unless we note an obvious error, then its full QA, except we get paid the fill-in-the-blank line rate rather than 100% QA line rate (3 cpl rather than 4).
