I don't work for them but remembered some discussion here recently since I was interested at the time, went back and found this thread, if I can get it to show up right. HTH

If they are global, I'm staying away. Thanks for posting that thread. It was very helpful.

I was hired for an account described as "wonderful"....then on start day 2 weeks later told that one was filled and put on yet another that was all ops and procedures. Nobody would answer my emails regarding this. Also you must be on a messenger at all times and if you get up to go to the bathroom, you deduct that from your time typing. Way too Big Brother and disorganized for me.
That's what happened to me!! sm - mt

During the interview process, they told me the shift I wanted was "no longer available," and offered me some other ones. I stuck to my guns, and got the shift I wanted. Then I was hired, put on a really good account, and then two weeks later I was moved to another account because I was "so good." I knew right then it was going to be the worst account they had, and I was right. Crappy dictators, crappy sounds, you name it. Started immediately looking for another job, and it took me about 9 months, but I got an in-house job, and I've been there ever since.
I like DR - MT2

I like it there. Have been there almost a year now, and do not plan to leave. Though sometimes work is slow and with anything SR rates are low, so I am getting something else to supplement. But my supervisor is very very nice and I am left alone to do my work. I have always been paid on time and early sometimes. Good luck.
blah, blah, blah - Happy Diskriter MT

The bashers are out in force. I love working for Diskriter and have been there for a few years.
I don't see it as bashing - happy there too

DR seems to be the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of MT, to me anyhow. I don't know if it's different accounts, etc., but MLSs either love 'me or hate 'em.
I find the criticisms constructive and believable, even though I've never experienced much of the negative.
I pretty much keep to myself, though, and just do my job, staying at my desk working, because that's how I make money. I work basically uninterrupted by anyone, and so far they are a keeper for me. Lots of work on my account. However, it's not inconceivable that other MLSs on other accounts may have a different experience.
Can you tell me how they pay for time off? Is it based on your sm - Considering DR

production or a flat rate of $10 or so? I just left a company that paid $8/hour, which I suppose is better than nothing, but not much. TIA

YOU ARE IN MANAGEMENT OR A RECRUITER. THE PLACE IS GLOBAL. I KEEP WONDERING WHEN THEY WILL FLY THE FLAG OF INDIA. OUR CEO LEFT A MONTH OR SO AGO. YOUR ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR IS NOW AN EMAIL BOX MONITORED BY ALL THE HIGHER MANAGEMENT IN THE COMPANY, INCLUDING GLOBAL.
How does a CEO leave? Doesn't he or she own the company? - confused

I liked the DR CEO, so this is upsetting. Did he start a new company? Who owns Diskriter now?
Mine was not a positive experience, but it seems others are happy. sm - Former DR

They pay 7 cpl for straight typing and then with incentive it is 0.0525 and up for VR, which is not so bad. I was told when I started there was "plenty of work," but ran out on a daily basis. The benefits are decent, though, and not as pricey as some places, but all in all, I got to the point where I dreaded starting work every day, so it was not worth it. I thought I hired for acute care, "basic 4," but I had to do prenatal ultrasounds, EEGs, and PFTs (which I hate!). They finally gave me a secondary account and the secondary was not so bad, but the tertiary account, which always did everything stat so I got it most of the time, was horrible -- lousy dictators, complicated specs, etc. And yes, they are global.
This was dumb on my part, but I thought because Mary Morken from the "other web site" in the old days used to work at DR that it must be a great company because I admired her so much. It may have been at one time, but now it is no place I would recommend to anyone. In the few months I worked there, I saw 2 account supervisors leave, 1 head of operations or whatever the term is called, and another VP, so I'm not the only one dissatisfied.
I had the same experience - Old and Tired MT

I worked there for a very short time. I was hired for the basic 4 and all I ever got was physical therapy notes, etc. I kept asking when the basic 4 would start and they kept putting me off. I finally had enough and quit.
