I haven't worked for DTS long, but knew Transcend was taking over and so far that looks good. I have had problems getting straight answers from DTS supervisor since hired, like when the supervisor, TL, and QA people were on duty. The nice recuiter told me she would get me a list without my asking, but forwarded the request to my boss who said she didn't know why I needed this information. Really? Isn't this the first information everyone gets--how to contact bosses for help during your shift since the boss might work a different shift? Why would that be a secret? At the same time, she assured me that I was not alone and they were there to support me. Hello, if the schedules are none of my business, how does that support me if I am floundering and need help? This boss also has the TL and front desk call you the minute they think you are are not logged into your job. ExText and the vpn will disconnect if left idle for too long, so how are you supposed to take your legal breaks if you don't log out? They call you right away and tell you to log back in to your shift--like you are a bad person. I call that spying and not necessary. When they put me on the wrong accounts, one of which turned out to be horrid-like 90% ESL, I complained several times and was told by one of the above to basically shut up and do it, that it was part of my job. Guess what honey? Nobody has to be tortured with 90% ESL if they are unhappy and I was not informed nor did I agree to that work. I have done transcription for decades in hospitals/clinics and am a CMT, but enough is enough. Too many ESL's cause me to grit my teeth while I am wondering how to pay my bills because you cannot make enough money because it is very hard work most of the time. Some accents are beautiful if you are lucky, but most are slow and hard work. In the last few days, I sent a few emails to boss with no answer and finally one to TL, asking if my boss was off duty in regard to my emails. She never answered me either. Gee, I feel so supported. Today, we received an email from the QA lady telling us that all emails are to be sent only to her from now on. So, where is the supervisor and team leader? Is Transend making changes, which could be good...or perhaps too many complaints caused some changes, as I cannot imagine that I am alone in my thoughts? I was actually considering quitting at this point, which is why I asked where my boss was, but now my interest is perked. What is up with that? I have hope still that things will work out for the better, as the basic job and pay rate seem to be great other than the problems mentioned above. I have learned that you have to be ready to jump ship and go to the next job when too many things are bad in a job, but I don't want to leave Transend without giving them a chance either. Someone mentioned this is all a game that you have to learn to play and I have jokingly said that for several years, but it is true. I guess I will hang in there for now and see what the news is. Does anyone know or want to take a guess? I am so glad they have this chat line and view other people talking. Best of luck to all of us!
