Are there any MTSOs that hire for Saturday work only? - Tinkerbelle

I like where I am working now, but just don't have enough work. I'd love to find a place that would hire me for Saturdays only. Any clues?

Unless something has drastically changed, you should try Nuance. They have been begging for more people to work Saturdays. You might be able to work something out with them.

I thought maybe I was doomed to the lot of those who want to hire ICs to work as employees with set hours and all sorts of other restrictions but finally I am actually working as an IC with 24-hour turnaround time with both companies. For me, this is an ideal situation as I am at my most productive when I work a couple of hours and then do something else for awhile. I am thinking of moving to another state and seem to remember that some MTSOs do not like to hire from certain states for various reasons. California comes to mind, but what are some of the others? ...
Strategic Accounts-anyone in this region with much work? Just curious. I am wondering when the work actually flows in, released, if there is such a thing happening. I think I would be willing to work a different shift if there was work later in day. I do not see a pattern.

I quit Nuance on Saturday and today have received 2 offers for employment elsewhere. One is in the transcription field and the second is something completely different. Think I will go with the new field. I need a change. There are plenty of minimum wage or a little better paying jobs out there in transcription though if one wants to stay with that type work. You don't have to stick with Nuance for fear of not finding other work. ...
OOW--my TMS quit--no new TSM yet. I liked her--sorry she left. I have 3 accounts and not ONE job this morning--so why do I have to work Saturday mornings againg??? I am sooooo glad I supplement my income by watching children in my home. That is the only way I can survive.

Always work Saturday morning, rarely have NJA but beginning to think it's going to be a regular thing now. This is my 3rd NJA this week. I feel sorry for those that get NJA every day. I already work weekends. They say it is for TAT. Work is already thin on weekends. This is not fair to the people who were hired for M-F. When I tried to sign back on at 9 p.m. PST (midnight EST), I could not get in, and the DEP light was red. I thought I saw a message on DEP that it was down for maintenance, but I just found the schedule they sent us sometime back, and next weekend is what is scheduled.

Why do all the companies have you working every weekend either saturday or sunday? I would much rather work both sat and sun every other weekend than be tied up every weekend. Just wondering if anyone knows the reasoning for that. ...

Just a question for everyone. I accepted a position and was to hear by the end of this week from my manager about doing some training on Tuesday of next week and have not heard one word. If you want experienced qualified MTs who have been doing this for years and years & can do any WT, any accent, any specialty, adapt to any software quickly.... quit requiring them to include a weekend day. Save those for part-timers or newbies. The experienced "oldies" have done their graveyard and weekend time. There are actually some companies who "get" that. Hello! I'm a small MTSO who had lost some clients due to EMR. I'm not yet ready to give up as of yet because I love this profession very much being in the MT business for the past 11 years. Honestly, I hate change but I am ready to jump.
I don't ask too much, just to know if I get audited by QA the intent is not to take money off me.
From what I can see, both the two big 2 - Nuance and MModal - use QA punitively financially, and while I have no objection to QA, when it is used to pick off MT pay I find that reprehensible and not an incentive to work your heart out, if you get what I mean.

That would make things much easier for us to plan ahead the rest of our shift; whether to sit there and wait for work, or if we only will be working part of a shift and the work runs out, or if we can sign out and do other things in our personal life that need to be done.

I've worked in the Medical Field for 10 years now as a Unit Clerk, Telemetry Tech and then doing CNA work since I am a Medical Assistant. part-timers for weekend work anymore? That's the way it was done for years, full-timers for M-F and part-timers for weekends, and it worked great because so many MTs are looking for extra weekend part-time work anyway.
