Our account is running out every day. Is this normal? Thanks.

We ran out of work some at the holidays. Usually we aren't running out at all. I don't know what accounts you are on so I can't answer for those accts. Keystrokes is usually a great company. Hang in there. My 2 accounts have been busy this week.

I think it depends on your account. I complained for 2 months about low work on my main account and finally got another account to work on. You should ask your lead if its a slow time for that account. If it is low, ask or more. I get one or 2 emails a week from my lead that other accounts are asking for help - so there is work there, but you can't sit around and wait for it.

I know that there are few new big radiology accounts and at least one new acute care account. My account is very busy right now, but it was slow until 2 weeks ago. I don't know if it is the economy or healthcare, but it seems that it is slower in the past. I do know that Keystrokes continues to get new accounts, so I feel secure, but this is a scary time right now for all of us. My husband has been out of work for 10 months, and it seems that everyone I talk to knows at least someone who is.

Talk to your lead or call the office. They will always make sure that you have what you need. Good luck!

I also have had very little work for over 3 months. I work on a clinic account. I might have 1 day of work per pay period. I am told that I cannot be placed on any other accounts because I either don't have a C-phone or don't have radiology experience. I was also told that there was only one account that had openings but that I wouldn't want it because it is mostly ESL.

That sounds weird. I would keep asking or buy a C-phone. They aren't that much money and I use mine on one of my accounts. I got a used one for a good price and it keeps me busy, so it has paid for itself. They usually have some C-phones at the office, so I would ask for one of those to borrow.

Yes one of the new accounts, probably the acute care is my employer. The transcriptionists have not been officially notified, but someone always lets the cat out of the bag early. I was told they may be offering the employees jobs, but who knows if they don't have enough work for the transcriptionists that they have. Believe it or not I threw a C-phone away not 3 weeks ago! I didn't even know anyone used them anymore.

I was terrified when we found out, but it actually has worked out very well for me. The account I am on is very busy, and I do not need a c-phone. They provide the foot pedal that I need, and I only had to buy a headset. I took some advice and bought a set of Bose Noise Reduction headphones, and they work much better than the old ones I used at the hospital. I think that clinic accounts are slower right now but it seems that is everywhere.

My cousin works for a hospital in Texas that is going to KS, and she also found out through the grapevine. Wonder if it's the same one? She called the KS office already to get at the top of the list and starts in 2 weeks. If you want to email me for who to call and the number, I would be happy to give it to you. I don't think we can put them on here.

We have been offered a job to move right over, etc. and everything sounds just wonderful. LOL. However, I see on the board many, many unhappy employees. I will never understand why companies over hire, we were ontop of TAT. In 2 weeks we have gone from 100s of files to 20 and fighting each other for them. 1200 lines to 400 a day ? Amazing the amount of job hopping necessary to support our families as most of type long hours, low pay to support our families. I am sickened by the thought of losing another job to no lines and the financial downfall it will have on my family..... I do not want to name company as I fear ...

I have an opportunity to get a brand new MAC as a gift. My boyfriend has an extra one. I work on the BeyondText platform and remember seeing someone on here had a MAC but had a way to split it so her Windows programs ran on the MAC somehow. Tech support at Transcend says it won't work on a MAC. Or maybe I was wondering if an external driver could be used that was Windows and would run on the MAC. Probably a pipe dream, but a MAC! I just came on shift and the system is sluggish, taking forever to download jobs and to switch between screens for ADT. As if that wasn't delightful enough, I just got the dreaded "unable to provide further audio" on the only decent-length job I've had, and I was actually able to hear it just fine. I broke it just to be on the safe side - I'm not going to do a job if I'm not sure of getting credit for it. Is anybody else dealing with ...
