Advanced Transcription, NJ - Deb

Anyone have any info on this company? They are out of New Jersey, it is a temporary part-time deal that uses Dictaphone, Extext, Transnet...I have already passed the test but just wondering what kind of company they are? Thanks!

What do you mean what kind of a company are they? What are you looking for exactly?

I would imagine that they are asking if they are a good (sm) - Just Sayin ....

company to work for, plenty of work, pays, pays on time, all of the usual questions that we ask about companies on here. With so many out there now that make empty promises it is difficult to tell about a company now.

Advanced Transcription is a good company to work for. Relatively small and the owner does keep in contact with you either by phone or email. I made good money when I worked for them but left, due to personal and computer issues. With the computer issues, the owner's personal computer tech tried to help innumerable times and the owner herself paid the bill; however, I ended up having to wipe everything off my hard drive and starting over becaue of a horrid virus I found out I had acquired. The owner could not be nicer. She is a former R.N., an older lady and now has problems with her vision, so occasionally, you might get an email from her where someone would think she is shouting or there may be typos, but again, it is because of her age and the problems with her sight. She will go to bat for her MTs, but she also expects her MTs to keep up their end of the bargain as well.

Would someone explain to me how is that this company can legally pay us a lower rate for ASR compared to transcription? After they pushed ASR on me, (said that I wouldn't ever get a 50:50 ratio of ASR to transcription) I am getting mostly ASR work. My pay has dropped significantly. Can they do this? ...
