Many people ahead of you with 30+ years experience are looking for jobs. Some people will try to bullshit you that "there are still good jobs available" and keep in mind the others ahead of you with experience will likely get those jobs.

Wages are next to nothing as an independent contractor, any halfway decent wage is far and few between, as well as the abovementioned people with 30+ years experience will be hired before you will.

Unless you're willing to work for nothing.

Canada all aside, I can't believe it's any better up there for MT jobs and wages than it is here.

Forgot to mention, if you do get on with any MTSO, chances are good that a client can stop using that service at any time, so you lose the account and likely your job. That's very common. I just lost a nice little account last week.

Do yourself a favor. Go into something else. If the course is already paid in full, you have the option to finish it or not. If it's not paid in full yet, stop wasting money and go into fast food or retail, or put money into a better career.
