I don’t work for any of these companies, but several years ago my employer eliminated paper checks and everyone had to go on direct deposit. It was a big change for many people but it sure beats waiting in line at the bank. We’re paid every other Friday; the deposit always goes in on Thursday night and posts the next morning. I think such a mandate might work for larger companies, but people with small payrolls might still want to issue paper checks. I can attest to the mail theft as it actually happened to some of my neighbors. We would come home and mail was strewn all over the street, people looking for checks and bank statements. The police finally caught them, mail fraud is a big deal. We were all told at that time to pick up our mail everyday. That was at least a year ago and we haven’t had any trouble since. Glad that you finally got your money.
