of all the security risks associated with snail mail which can include anything from the mail carriers dropping your mail into the wrong mailbox, bad weather, vicious dogs, thieves lurking around the neighborhood or worse, your mail carrier getting mugged and carjacked at gunpoint! All of which have happened...
The way the federal gov't loves to dish out mandates, then why not make it official and make direct deposit mandatory for all forms of payment directed to Americans. I doubt anyone would consider that to be unreasonable.
