Is there an MT shortage? I have seen so many places - hiring and posting ads weekly

that I'm wondering if a lot of MTs have left this career.  Many have probably retired, and maybe others have had enough of the way we're treated and the low pay that they've moved on to other careers?  Some of the posts about companies here and how they fire people without notice and some who don't even pay their MTs really prove what this profession has become, not to mention requiring an expensive computer to meet their specs while making pennies.   It'll be interesting to see what these companies decide to do if they can't hire anyone.  Maybe they'll raise their pay and start treating MTs with the respect they deserve.
