I agree with your post. MTs aren't needed if EMR is in use, which is widely used and actually encouraged.

Scribe work is different and you're using the EMR, so it's point and click. You follow the doctor around or sit in when he/she sees patient in a clinic setting. The scribe jobs in my area only pay 10 an hour and they want you to be pursuing a career in medicine. Supposedly, you get more exposure to real-time treatments/doctor and patient interactions, etc. Scribes are meant more for a short-term thing, not necessarily a long-term job or career. It's more for training purposes.

Scheduling and front desk personnel as well as insurance verifies make way more money than a scribe.
