find stars macro in Word 2019 - debbie

Had to buy a new computer, having much difficulty with this new Word 2019 and can't get the macros to work. I can record the findstars macro, but can't get it to work. Any suggestions? I haven't scrolled down/around in a document for decades so this is extremely frustrating! TIA, debbie
