who are pre-SS age (mid 40s to mid 60s), unmarried, have been MTs for decades and are not so valuable in the marketplace anymore, and have no other income other than MT.
I read so many stories here about married MTs having SS, young moms just doing this for McDonald's money, retired MTs re-entering the market to have more spending money, MTs who have husband's incomes, etc. They do not have the same issues as those of us solely dependent on this job.
We're a little late to be changing careers, haven't been able to save money in a decade due to the cuts in pay, have lost savings trying to stay afloat (sometimes spending that savings based on what MTSOs have sold us about voice rec, Nuance selling us on how things were going to "stay the same", lies, lies and more lies), have cut bills as far as we can possibly cut, and some of us are now at the end of the rope - having to live with family members, unable to pay electric bills, unable to find steady work with dedicated accounts, being paid on production where this is almost impossible now (should be an hourly job), no benefits, nothing to fall back on, no security.
It's just a different ballgame for some of us.
