Truer words were never spoken. GET $$ OUT of govt - Force them to work for us. sm

This poster has the answer to many, many problems in our profession and others.

People need to trace the problems in our society, government, and economy to the source. The majority of time it is EXACTLY what this poster stated. Our government is legally corrupt and it is only getting worse as these posts reflect. You need to stop corporations and/or the rich from funding political campaigns. Politicians should work for us, not them.

If you had been an employee at GM for years, your whole life was tied up in that job, your savings, your retirement, your health insurance, everything. Now it is gone. Your wife may be employed but she cannot support the family on her salary, and all you can get is a $10 an hour job as an IC. No health insurance. No benefits, and forget retirement savings from now on much less college savings. So you and the wife and kids have to seek food stamps and/or some other form of government assistance, only to be told that you are lazy, not willing to work, and do not deserve such hand outs, AKA entitlements.

Some one said they do not agree with the $15 / hour min wage increase. Why? Every corporation and CEO has gotten a huge pay increase by way of taxes. Did this trickle down? Is this called winning. Not for the middle class it is not.

It is also stated that they pay all the taxes. THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL THE MONEY, and spend it to make sure the govt keeps it that way. Hate to be so political on this board, but Trump said he would take pen to paper during his first 100 days in office and tax corporations a 35% penalty for sending jobs offshore. So far, NOTHING. Wouldn't MTing be a lot different now. We could then refuse to work for peanuts, and off shoring would not be an option. We, and most people in the US, used to dedicate themselves to a job, a company, and had benefits and security and a retirement plan. A thing of the past now. The corporations do not want to operate like that any longer. This is another reason why we need national healthcare. The whole country is going IC, at low rates, and the rich keep getting richer.
