PF transcription - ex-PFer Posted: Dec 5th, 2018 - 9:13 am In Reply to: Totally agree with you on everything - Current PF-er
Yes, PF will definitely suck the life out of you. When I left, I put out many resumes in a variety of fields, from legal secretary to airline ticket agent to court recording specialist, and to my surprise, I got call backs and interviews with all of them.
I was ready and willing to get out of the transcription field and with my kids grown and gone I was willing to trade working from home for regular pay raises, no holidays, and a pleasant and non-toxic work environment the way PF had become. The economy is such that good professionals are harder to come by. All had better pay than PF. So, yes PF pays better than most transcription companies, but for all of my years there without any real raise (you get a small amount towards your barely above minimum PTO rate), I was ready for a real career.
As it turns out, one of the private practices I had applied to for a transcription position (work from home) became available when the first person they hired didn't work out, and I have been doing that ever since. I feel SOOO much less stress in this job than I did at PF and they pay better too. Sorry to hear that they haven't stopped with the constant control.
