You should develop invoice terms for payment and clearly state these terms on every invoice in bold print under the invoice amount. Fourteen days is a quite generous amount of time as invoices are generally emailed rather than being sent via U.S. mail. You should charge a late fee for invoices not paid after 14 days. If the late fee is incurred but not paid, you carry it over to your next invoice.
