Another MT turned coder - just saying

MMmodal tried to get the transcription business at the hospital I work at. Karma smiled on me that day because I was the one who answered the phone and got to tell them there was no way in hell Mmodal was ever setting foot in our hospital while I was here. I know how they treat their transcriptionists. I know they expect perfection with PhD knowledge, but pay entry level wages.

The sales person tried to argue with me, but I said I worked for Mmodal for 17 years. I watched them kill the industry. I would have stayed loyal but they were not loyal to me. I never got a full shift of work and I was sick of working 65 hours a week to get in 40. Plus I never got a raise in that time.
The sales person did not even know what to say. Perhaps don't make your employees angry with your tactics because we have a long reach in the industry. There are employers out there who actually value our knowledge and skills and will pay for it.
