I am a former MT for M*Modal and now a coder for a local hospital. When I worked for M*Modal, my accuracy was expected to be 99.8%, or nearly perfect. However, the hospital that I am now employed by also uses M*Modal as their transcription service and the work that is returned is unbelievable. We even have a doctor that they practically refuse to transcribe. His work is always returned with 20+ blanks. I gave up on MT'ing long ago. It's sad because it was a good profession once upon a time. Offshore outsourcing was the death of quality transcription.
