If you weren't meeting metrics they have ways to terminate you.
More than likely this is based on account profitability, likelihood of accounts renewing, etc. The end of the fiscal year is September 30, so they know which accounts are leaving or will not renew contracts.
More than likely the MTs who have been retained will be laid off eventually. Probably has zero to do with an MTs performance.
