Tends to be the same thing. Although one of the MTs here says you can ask for raises and it sometimes actually works (?). My pay has not changed in a decade. Anyway, starting pay last I heard was 4 cents a line for VR and 6 cents a line for straight typing, and I believe most of us here are now getting about 95% (or more) straight typing.
ETA: Argh, that was supposed to be 95% ASR as poster below pointed out. Sorry about that. Like her, I have not seen much besides ASR in years.
