There is a reason some of us MTs are still thriving, and there is a reason some of you aren't. The fact that you aren't even willing to try it to see what kind of work it is before deciding whether or not 5 cpl is worth it is crazy to me. The cpl does not matter so much if the doctor is super awesome. I can easily make $20 an hour making 5 cpl if the doctor is clear, and I have done it. Would I accept 5 cpl to do ESL doctors? No, probably not, but why not try it first, and then once you see how hard the work is, you can tell the person that 5 cpl is not worth it because the work is too difficult. I find that in most instances when the MTSO offers 5 cpl for training, or a cheaper line rate, it is because the doctor is really, really good and you can still make a killing at 5 cpl. Think about it. Good doctor, talks clear, doesn't change his mind, you get 5 cpl. A doctor that mumbles, isn't clear, you have to stop and start, etc...and make 10 cpl, well really, are you making any more money at the higher cpl rate? No. Try it before you knock it. You may get one you don't regret.
