Just a guess. It is harder and harder to find small companies that offer a reasonable rate.

Also, it is adding insult to injury to use the fact that someone works for Nuance to suggest that as some kind of evidence that things are not as bad as they are. Because the OP stays is IMO not pertinent and do not invalidate her observations.
