I left the MT world a year ago after getting my Certified Professional Coder credentials through AAPC. Best move I ever made. Now making $45,000 compared to $30,000 as MT (25 years as MT), and I am working from home just as I was as MT, but in a much more stable work environment... no running out of work, respect from employer, etc. I would never encourage anyone to stay in, or return to the MT world.
