filing an SS-8. If all ICs who find themselves in the position of being treated as an employee would file an SS-8, I cannot help but believe we would see a change. All ICs ask is that companies understand we are not at their beck and call, we cannot be put on a schedule, and you cannot micromanage us. I know there are those who will not file because they need their jobs, that's understandable since this field is decimated and is probably the driving force for those companies who push the envelope, but once they leave, they should file because if the IRS rules against the company that will stop that company and others acting in the same manner in their tracks. I will be glad to share here what happens with my case.
