behalf of employees, not independent contractors, and refers you to the IRS where you can file the S-88 form for the IRS to determine whether you are an IC or an employee. The form itself states if you do not want the company to know who you are, then do not file this form, but if you are no longer under contract there, you have nothing to lose. These companies will never learn that they are not above the law unless more ICs file S-88 forms. THE IRS WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU. You did the right thing keeping all the backup. Be sure it is in a safe place. Good luck to you. I feel your pain because I've been where you are.
