I had one last night, oh baby. Discharge summary 45 minutes long. Nurse practitioner, complicated cardiac patient. Twelve minutes in, we were done with the admit and discharge dxs and the 1st sentence of the HPI. Downhill from there. I sped up during the gaps between sentence fragments. She has this fascination with echo results and repeats them word for word in 2 or 3 places in the report.
I seriously wonder how these people keep their jobs. She does not realize there is another person on the end of the phone listening to this hot mess. Believe me I use stronger language than hapless fool when I'm cursing at her to talk faster.
