The physicians' group I transcribe for uses mydocsonline.com, which is an online data sharing website. The physicians dictate into a digital recorder, upload files into MyDocs and the transcriptionist downloads them and transcribes from that (I transcribe into their EMR). I use WAVPedal to transcribe. It has gotten expensive, but you can do a 30-day trial for free. I'm sure there are others, perhaps less expensive. I have only had to replace WAVPedal by Dictran software once in the 14 years I have used it. If you upgrade to a new computer, Dictran will sell the software at a discount for established customers. The only problem with both companies is they do not provide weekend/evening support; however, I have only had very rare issues with either (about 2 for each in all those years). There are still many physicians who like to dictate instead of point and click. They like the professional way a transcribed note looks as opposed to the sometimes horrible appearance an EMR note spits out. I transcribe for young and old docs, even those proficient in an EMR system and with good typing skills.

Best of luck to you!
