As anyone else listened to the update on Transcend and Nuance new Model?  I hope that is the way it is going to be and hope it is better for everyone.  This comes out today and I had 2 team leads both typing on the account I type on and assigning numerous jobs and all of the good work to themselves and then causing the regular MLS to run out of work.  This is the kind of crap that I hope stops.

Honestly, I don't see anything much changing. Sounds like it is all the stuff at the top and the "MLS" is pretty much same old.

The whole thing about work flow and trying to make sure we have plenty of work on our schedule, hope for it but don't count on it.

It actually sounded like things would get more regimented. Like we would be being watched much more closely as to LPH and schedules.

I wasn't very clear about the QC/QA thing, if they were changing that or not, but if I understood the changes they were talking about, it will not be better. Letting them work on more accounts when they don't even know the Account Specs for the dedicated one's they have now just means even more inconsistency and crappy QC/QA for the "MLS."

else. Work should come into que according to turnaround time unless its a stat. TLs should not be allowed to just pick and choose who they will and wont type. That is totally unfair to the MTs.

I totally agree, but that is not the way it is on my account. They not only pick and choose, they totally run us out of work. They do not play fair and it is really aggravating, especially when we can see what everyone is typing as the day goes on. Total CRAP!!! And this is who is going to be mentoring?

I listened to parts of the recorded session but did not see anything about this. My heavens. How can they do that and answer emails and phone calls at the same time? Is this really going to happen? I guess that is why my team lead, whom I really like, is going into another role. She does not transcribe. Are they just going to work when we are swamped or what? I am going to find out more about this before jumping to conclusions.

I came to Nuance from the Webmedx buyout. We don't have TLs (hope we never do), and we have always been told not to cherrypick. Of course, what officially goes on behind the scenes is anyone's guess.

Just wondering if Transcend MTs are told not to cherrypick and then your TLs are allowed to do so. That is sickening.

Oh yes...."not at this time"....We've heard that a lot since we were sold down the river. It would be laughable if it weren't so devastating financially.
This is actually a perk to being a TL. - Thankless job otherwise.

And there is our answer - to all us insignificant MLS's busting our butts on the hard dictators and wading through the mud to get our production - this is our thanks. I hope the new organization puts team leads as just that and there to HELP us rather than HURT us in getting our work done. And I hope they get an hourly salary so they have the desire to do the 1000 things they should be doing to help this company grow and regain a reputable reputation.

I, along with most of us, are opposed to cherry picking. However, I have observed the fact that my TL starts her day at 8 a.m. (or earlier), is still available to promptly answer an email at 9 p.m., seldom gets a day off, in short, works her butt off. I don't know how she is does it and yet remains pleasant and helpful throughout all this stress. I think she should have SOME perks for giving up her entire life for her job.

Well your team lead is nothing like mine. I have one who has been helpful a couple of times. The other is completely invisible to us other than seeing her cherry picking all the time. She does not give us any feed back. She is not available to us at all and she sends back the problem jobs she gets to me and I have to send them to the help desk to send you the ROM. I am sure she does some other duties but it has absolutely nothing to do with helping the transcriptionists under her.

Ummm that phrase right there says a LOT. Ask any of the Wmx people what happened (they were told this and all had a cut in pay). I fled Wmx to Transcend when Nuance took over, now I'm back here in the same boat!! Recurring nightmare!!

It's a way for them to save money, they don't compensate the TLs properly in terms of wages, instead they compensate them by allowing them to choose the work they want to do. It seems like something that should be disclosed somewhere but it's just one of those policies they don't like to talk about, understandably so. They just keep looking for ways to increase profits, and this is just another method. It's super frustrating though...

The one thing that all of use want to change is COMPENSATION/WAGES....and of course there would be no increase for that at this time, um how about never. I have heard that when they were Focus and they were trying to make things better. Instead the wages stayed the same, work became scarce. It is never ending. They are all talk just to make us try to hang in there in the event things will get better. They are lining their pockets that is all they are doing.

TL's cherry picking, um not fair there either, they should have to do the same crappy work the rest of us have to do.

Transcend employee for 8 years. I was in upper management in my past life. This is all just "ear" candy. Oh sure, they'll switch folks around and call it a new "model," some companies call it a "reorganization," but in the end, it's the same old stuff. Compensation staying the same? Sure, at this time, BUT....I'll believe it when pigs fly. Is this guy on the up and up or just another guy in upper management trying to calm the masses? Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm too close to retirement to worry. I'll just stick it out and see where the chips fall.

Business is business afterall right? As long as those at the top can still afford their luxurious lifestyle that's what counts. I've been an MLS with Transcend for 8 years and worked for MQ almost 15 years ago. Funny how things never change.

It's buyout #3 for me and the happy talk has been only slightly reworded with each transition. I have finally caught on. I would recommend not believing a word they say to anyone who is still in the fool me once or fool me twice phase of their careers.

Hi everyone I just wanted to stop by really quick and let you all know that finally, FINALLY I am off QA. I was given two accounts today in addition to the one they had initially given me. I can now type w/o counting my reports and waiting for feedback first. It remains to be seen of course, whether or not there will be as much work as I was told but so far, this company has been true to their word. Okay so when I logged in this morning, I get the message to upgrade.  I am currently using Vista.  When I go to Docqmanage to upgrade, I get the message "The version of DocQscribe you are trying to install requires the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package SP2." I tried to install it, but it says its not compatible with Vista! Somebody Help!!  ...

Couldn't sign in this morning, says I need to do another update.  I tried to find how to do that with QScare, e-mailing my CCM, but no response after an hour.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Isn't it in MQCentral somewhere?  I wish I could do a search on the site, but I had to navigate through each of the options in every department, and can't find any portal.  Anyone know how to do this? ...

I pointed out the job number and QA person who made two errors in a report after marking me with a Major error.  The QA leader, of course, went over what "I" did wrong and why her QA was correct and mentioned the grammatical errors; however, didn't mention that they were made BY THE QA PERSON and left it implied that they were mine as well.  I have a job interview tomorrow, in-house, doing office work.  Can't wait.  ...

Well, the head tech guy called today and remotely went on my computer, and he could not find a solution to this error coming up when opening Editscript v 9.  It will not work, so I cannot work.  I have a new job, but I can't work because I can't get ES 9 to work.  Funny thing is, it does this on both my computers, and one is an XP and one is Vista.  What are the odds both computers would give this same error?  The tech guy said they have never seen this error b ...

The doc has contacted me and we are to meet today at his office.  He has such a heavy accent, I could hardly understand what he was saying.  He is in need of a transcriptionist, and has 50 charts needing to be transcribed.  Not sure what type of equipment he has as of yet, but obviously he must have some kind.   How do I charge him.  I thought about by the line at maybe 12 cpl, but his accent is so heavy, I am thinking it will take me a while before being productive ...

I once was employed by DIT but fortunately no longer.  Was wondering if anyone had an update on them.  I am still owed about $1000, but have really given up on ever getting the rest of this money.  I took them to small claims back several years ago.  Are they still in business? Does anyone know?  I got a 1099 with their old address on it which they are supposedly not there anymore.  No one can get an address, much less a phone number because there are more claims out there.  Just wonder ...

I haven't seen any recent posts about a lack of work at Oracle.  Have things settled down to where everyone has sufficient work?  I'm working for them PT and have only had 1-2 occasions where I've run out of work; however, my FTE is running out of work on an increasingly frequent basis and, if there's sufficient work at Oracle, I'd be interested in switching over to them as a FT position. Thanks everyone for your encouragement on my first post about 3 reports a day since I started with my new company.  I have now been with the company as an IC for 4 days and still being restricted.   I understand that new hires have to be checked.  This is bordering on ridiculous, though.  Today for instance I had one report, ONE.  It was multiple patients on one dictation but after that, nothing.   I waited for it to get through QA and reviewed corrections ...
