DQS 6.1 - anyone using the latest DQS update? - sm

Is anyone using the latest DQS update? I think it's 6.1version. I've already gone through the training on it but haven't heard when it's going to be started. Thanks

DQS upgrade. They are constantly upgrading things, yet there is rarely any benefit or improvement of the overall system.

6.1 Training - Just Me

Hi. The training is on MQ Central home page. There is a link list on the left-hand side. The last link is for 6.1 DQS update presentation. There are 5 that you have to do and send the #'s to your CCM in subject line of email, and CCM is supposed to give you info on updating. The problem is that my CCM had no clue this was even available, so when I sent the info, she was like, "What's this?" So now that she got a similar email from another MT, she is looking into it to see how and when to upgrade. If I hear anything, I'll post it.

I just heard from CCM. The training is paid, 1.5 hours. Also she said she will get back with me in a week for info on upgrading.

I haven't been notified to do the training yet, but I checked out the site on MQ Central and saw the topics. It looks like we have auto numbering on 6.1, which it's high time we had that. Are there many other different or cool new things on this version? Thanks for any info!! =)

I never did get any notification to do the training. I just saw it on the home page and went to it and did them. The people in the monthly DQSpeech forum are the ones that told us we get paid for it. I takes about 1.5 hours to do all of them. Numbering, yes. Some ADT changes, etc. It is all covered in these presentations. Just do them, follow the instructions on the site (emailing the code #'s at the end of the presentation in the subject line and send to CCM. You will probably have to explain to CCM about it, as I don't think anyone told them!

Hi everyone I just wanted to stop by really quick and let you all know that finally, FINALLY I am off QA. I was given two accounts today in addition to the one they had initially given me. I can now type w/o counting my reports and waiting for feedback first. It remains to be seen of course, whether or not there will be as much work as I was told but so far, this company has been true to their word. Still, four days on a very restrictive QA protocol was quite scary. I am a LOT grayer now ...

Well, all the rumors are starting to come to pass with dear SGS (Superior Global Solutions). I "WAS" in QA until yesterday. They either fired or demoted 7 of us so far to MT status. Not saying being an MT is a demotion, but for the sake of telling you about SGS and my experiences with them, we shall call it a demotion. If it is true that our MT corporations are profiting with VR the same as if we were transcribing, well to me that's picking my pocket......So then why isn't AAMT (or whatever) going to bat for us 'editors' and set standards so that companies will pay us our fair share? I'm utterly confused regarding this latest merger/acquisition/whatev of MQ of M*Modal. I just accepted a position with an MTSO working on the M*Model platform. Does the fact that the Q purchased M*Modal mean that down the road I will be working for MQ? Does this mean that MQ just owns the rights to M*Model and now has the ability to charge the MTSOs obscene amounts of money to continue to use the platform? Does this affect our positions as MTs who do work on M*Model ...

I am at about the last straw with this company. Just a few minutes ago I got an e-mail from TSM about the "gym membership reimbursement" program. It was to remind us "full-timers" to get our attendance records in to HR so that we can get reimbursement. Now, I have never even heard of this program.
