Pay grid - an

Posted: Apr 09, 2015

I have to say 9 months ago when I hired in, I was very skeptical of all the nay sayers on this forum.  The new pay scale came out and a month into it, I was like awesome!  I was getting 100% most every week and a decent paycheck.  Now...........I have been under 99% consistently for 6 weeks!  I continuously watch, I will get a 100%, another 100% and then the game is on!  They are going to keep auditing until they find one that will knock me off the pay scale and have succeeded.  Of course, none of the errors are threatening to patient safety.  He instead of she.  98 instead of 90 on a pulse rate, but of course they always sound the same and we can't listen to back ourselves up, etc, etc.  Sick:(

I know how you feel. I did pretty good last week, but then this week I got knocked down to the bottom of the grid to 7 pennies. Talk about something that makes you feel like a failure. On week you're on top, the next picking yourself out of the ditch.

I got really peeved thinking about all this earlier. Seems that somehow all this is not right, that at 7 pennies per line we are not being paid for all lines done, typed or edited. Yet, they fuss about giving us MUP. I honestly do not see how those higher than us grunts (MLS) can sleep at night knowing what they are helping to perpetuate. Karma is coming, Nuance. You can't buy your good fortune from her and you can't fire her. Hope you're ready.

My New Year's resolution was to find a job outside of MT, or just plain away from Nuance. This place is no longer good enough for our skills or talent.

That is the part a judge would find intriguing. Can they legally disregard half of the work you produce and then pick apart what's left. It also affects our speed equation when someone asks you how fast you work because you're figuring it on way less lines produced. They are robbing from us 2 ways.

I am by no means a fan of the pay grid. However, we have - wannie

to remember that for those lines they half, they pay us the same rate as for the lines they don't half. Once again, I DO NOT LIKE this pay grid. I think they way they figure our pay is demeaning, unfair, not at all a means toward improving patient safety; but, we DO get paid for all the lines we do. We would make the same amount if they still paid the same way as before (i.e. 7/3.5) instead of counting only half the edited lines and paying the full 7 (or wherever we fall in the grid for any given week) cpl for them. Just for the record, I've been at 100% a few times and below 99% a few times, so it's not like I always make top of the grid pay. I'm not management in any shape, form or fashion. I am simply an MLS trying to make a living like everybody else. :)

I am not a grid fan either, but get so tired of people posting on here that N "takes half our lines away" or "doesn't pay us for half our lines." It's just simple math.
I agree with that, but... - cracked

some people insist that they are making twice as much, not taking into account the lines are cut in half for VR.

Even at 10 clph, that is 5 for VR and I made 5.5 for VR 4 years ago.

I believe the grid was designed hoping people would think they are making more per line, but with all the metrics, it is meant for us to earn minimum wage or just above.

Wasn't there supposed to be something about compensation for the difficult dictators? Has anyone seen that?
I'm definitely not making twice as much. Somtimes - wannie

I make more, sometimes I make less. I agree that the whole idea was to try to fool us into thinking we are making more. I haven't heard anything else about compensation for difficult dictators either.

MLS making the same or more most likely qualified for at least the weekly incentive which is gone.

WE are not getting paid more.

Wasn't there supposed to be consideration given to MLS who worked on no blank accounts as well?

10% QA - anon

Also, when you were assigned to a new account so you had 100% QA at first it was not supposed to count towards the 10% QA percentage

Not On Grid??

What happens when you make 100% QA, less than 10% QC but your lines are under 100 LPH and not on the grid? Let's say you had all that and was at 90 C-LPH....is that still 7 cpl then? Thanks! ...

New Pay Grid.
Mar 24, 2015

So after anguishing over this new pay grid I began crunching numbers. If I continue with my average line count which is around 170 lph and fall off the grid I will be making $12.75 ph. If I send more than the QC% of 10% I will make 11.90. So worst case scenario is $11.90 ph at this point. I have looked around at other jobs and as it has been stated years of MT experience does not transitiion well into other fields. Options:  Start over in a whole new area, retail, customer service, and ...

Looking At The Grid, The Numbers Appear To Only
Dec 03, 2014

take into account working 8 hours per day. What happens to part-time people? How will that be figured. Yesterday my C-LPH would have been between 150 and 170, but my total line count for the day was not between 1200 and 1360. How is that gonna work? Anybody got any clues? ...

Fell Off The Grid....
Feb 12, 2015

This is the first time on this new pay plan that I've fallen below 99%.  I have had two reports audited so far.  Usually I have three or four, so maybe there is still hope.  The two reports I have had audited each had a tiny 0.25 point error -- enough to drop me down to a 98.75!!  ~sigh~ ...

Newest BS--QC Grid
May 27, 2015

An email was sent to QC stating that even though we are pretty much just doing a second pass editing job now and on production only, it was stated they still expect us to send feedback to MLS.  So instead of using Fiesa for its intended purpose we are suppose to go back to sending feedback emails.  First of all, from reading posts on here it has been stated by many that QC error feedback doesn't count for anything with regards to pay, etc., so why waste time looking at it.  S ...

Take A Look At The Grid ... Nuance Doesn't
Feb 13, 2015

What's Wrong With Their Stupid Grid?
Mar 13, 2015

There are many, many things wrong and unfair about their moronic scheme to accomplish wage theft, but here's just one: The doctor says something stupid and I know it's wrong, but I'm not going to put in a blank because that will put me over the threshold where I have to send it to QA and that will put me over the threshold of not meeting the less than 10% QC criteria. I apologize, stupid doctor, but this is not my fault. It's yours for saying something stupid. I realiz ...

INDIA'S POWER GRID COLLAPSES - 680 MILLION LOSE POWER
Jul 31, 2012

One of the things I have repeatedly written and warned about when it comes to outsourcing is the uncertain infrastructure that many foreign countries have - and I'm not just talking about their electrical grids. Foreign countries introduce huge elements of uncertainty (read, RISK) when it comes to their physical infrastructure, but also their social, governmental and legal infrastructures.  And when it comes to something as CRITICAL as American healthcare records (which, may I remind ...

How Often Do You Have To Be "off The Grid"
Feb 11, 2015

performance managing you?  And if you stay the same (which I know I will) do they fire you even if they aren't paying MUP?  I seem to be on that stupid grid about half the time and of course off the other half.  Even though I'm off the grid, I still (if barely) make it over minimum wage and so they haven't had to pay me MUP yet.   Do they care more about having to pay MUP pay than they do about getting under 99%?  That wouldn't make sense b ...
