stuck on QA - Frustrated

can somebody please tell me how the QA system is fair? I have pointed out errors and had them acknowledged by the QA person on our team. The stuff is so inconsistent. I am in my THIRD month of QA and I've been doing dictation for 20+ years. My 'mistakes' are only in formatting and BOS issues and I get counted off for some things and when I change to what the QA corrects me on - i get QA'd AGAIN for doing it the way they corrected me! I have pointed out several corrections that were made in my reports that are INCORRECT.

I got QA'd for formatting and I was copying it RIGHT OFF THE REPOSITORY! After I sent about three complaints for this issue - they changed the report examples in the repository!

Do they go back and 'correct' the correction and take it off my stats?

One problem didn't even SHOW UP when the supervisor went to verify my complaint???

I am getting so frustrated - I am giving up. I told the QA supervisor that I'm done.

that all the work it takes you to send emails and or call to complain/point out inconsistencies in QA, the sooner you will be able to relax. I have just finally stopped stressing about it and just do the best I can.

that it is not going to matter - if I take the time to document so I can make my argument during an audit - my production will stink so bad they won't keep me anyway. So I just suck it up and ignore what they say. I type the stuff according to the BOS-III....if I don't make it - i don't need to work for them anyway! LOL

used as an example of correct formatting ? They may be completely out of date in that area. Also I have noticed that the exact same phrase will be transcribed several different ways on different reports in the repository. If there is one you are 100% sure is completely wrong, let your CCM/QC know so they can have it removed because otherwise people will just keep copying the error into their reports.
As for different QA people correcting the same point differently, just make sure you know what is the real correct way and do that, backed up by BOS2 or MedQuist Standards and Guidelines. Then when you have an audit, you will be able to defend yourself.

it is so frustrated, example: number ranges. I type 70-80%, it gets corrected to 70% to 80%

I asked for clarification from the QA manager - who gives me guidelines....which I follow - but apparently the editors don't have the same info!!!?????

sometimes my 70-80% is left alone, sometimes it is changed to 70% to 80% and other times when i type 70% to 80%, it is changed to 70-80%.

If the CP states the account follows AAMT then here is the rule:

Percent of takes a singular verb when the word following of is singular, a plural verb when the word following of is plural.

Ninety percent of the body was burned.
Forty percent of the patients were in the control group.

Percent takes a singular verb when it stands alone (not followed by of).

Fifty percent is adequate.

When the amount is less than 1 percent, place a zero before the decimal.

With whole numbers, avoid following the number by a decimal point and a zero, since such forms are easily misread. The decimal point and zero may be used if it is important to express exactness. Use it if dictated.

Use decimals, not fractions, with percents.

Percentage point is not the same as percent. Thus, a decrease from 10 percent to 5 percent is a decrease of 5 percentage points. It represents a decrease of 50 percent, not a decrease of 5 percent.

It is acceptable to use a hyphen between the limits of a range if the following five conditions are met.
1. The phrases "from...to," "from...through," "between...and" are NOT used.
2. Decimals and/or commas do not appear in the numeric values.
3. Neither value contains four or more digits.
4. Neither value is a negative.
5. Neither value is accompanied BY A SYMBOL.
When any one of the five above conditions is NOT met, use "to" (or other appropriate wording) in place of a hyphen.

I am making less and less at my at-home transcription job. I have not been motivated at all lately, and I also never have enough work when I am motivated. I feel completely depressed. I've got great experience and when I'm scheduled to work, I'm there working. What the hell difference does it make if I only want to be scheduled for 6 hours on four of my weekdays? Would they rather I said I would work 8 hours and actually only work 6 like a lot of people?
