benchmark ??? what a joke - red

Okay this Benchmark is fine. but the time it takes to look things up, its time to move onto another report. I am not being paid enough to spend time looking through this.

I find it sooo much faster than - KXA

flipping through a book or sorting through the internet when I need to find something that is in Stedman's or Quick Look Drug Book (especially since my Quick Look is 3 years old), but I have yet to find one doctor in their database.

If it's pronounced well enough I can usually find it within a minute on Google. I'm not even bothering with the Benchmark thing, it sounds to me like it would seriously cut into my line count, spending so much time researching.

asked my CCM about Benchmark and was told it was "optional." therefore, google will be my friend.

I have desktop icons for Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Edwards, drugs.com, the FDA genetics website, and others. I see no real advantage to adding benchmark. From what I see, the only new thing is noting out of range and possibly incorrect lab values. Independent thinking is not part of the job here at MQ.

once again it feels like a sell-out, like I would be accepting that they underpaid us on millions and millions of lines a few years ago and now trying to sell us a line of baloney about this latest FTR program we have had pushed upon us so that we will now do quality transcription and QA for the same, or less, money. Even if Benchmark is a great asset, it doesn't go down my throat easily. More about the symbolism than the usefulness. Maybe I am just shooting myself in the leg.

we were NOT doing quality transcription before all of this, yet we passed our "audits" all the time, so in reality MQ is contradicting itself. I just wonder what the clients are thinking when they are suddenly getting reports with more blanks in them.. can't make me believe they are happy about that.

I apologize if this sounds ugly, but I got the Benchmark on my own when I started working at MQ and it saves a great deal of time. You can't pass judgement on something you don't understand or have even had much experience with.. As far as all the griping goes, I wish people would stop. I may not like all the changes, but I still love my job and I have difficult dicators as well, this forum is just for people who are unhappy. It's very frustrating. That end part is for everyone who has something smart to say about whomever they might work for.

you don't sound ugly your just stating the truth. I understand why they gave it to us. "to say they have provided us with all tools to produce a great report". Its a very easy tool to use. But when having to take the time to research we loose money.

Obviously your checks have not been shortened by this change.

ago at Webmedx. WMX actually bought the subscriptions for everyone and the software is so slow and flawed (check out the physician addresses, ha ha ha) that nobody would use it. Subscriptions were not renewed. I guess AHDI moved on to you guys.

The software was made by (as usual) people with no experience in medicine whatsoever and who use YOU to develop their software.

I found this website on google and they say they will provide you with the book of style v.3, and stedman's medical spellchecker along with lots of other references electronically for a membership fee of $200/year. Medquist is very close to signing up for yet another year of Benchmark. So very few people use it and the corporate people are trying to find out why. Seriously. I wonder if they will listen this year when we tell them that we don't want it, don't use it and it is a colossal waste of money. It is telling me unathorized and use correct form. Using ADP # and password Medquist, but not working.
