or get moved to another BOB/TSM email. Im so mad right now. Why all of the sudden is there no work for my shift? She needs someone from 4p to 1a? Seriously?

Today for the first time is 2 weeks I have plenty of work for my entire shift, on my main, regular, familiar accounts.

UGH!!!! Just a little venting to those who feel me as my husband is tired of hearing it! LOL!

I work that shift and it stinks. Plus been running out of work lately too. NM - anon

I don't see how this is going to be a magic fix for our lack of work. Only time will tell I guess. Maybe so many people will quit that we'll have more work...til they over-hire again of course.

If there isn't work, they need to lay you off so you can collect unemployment. That is how they get around the unemployment thing. Don't move your schedule unless you want to

Someone might wanna check that out before they just refuse. I would think that if you are refusing work, you would not qualify for unemployment.

but your post is a good scare tactic. I would certainly check with your state employment agency regarding forcibly being required to work a midnight shift. People do have lives and should not have to be available to an employer 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

It may be state to state also but let's say you had a religious reason for not working saturdays or sundays and they said to you "if you work sundays and saturdays you will have work" but you were not hired to work these dates as you stated when you were hired it was because of religious reasons, can you get unemployment? They are changing your schedule that you didn't sign up for, for a reason, religious objection. Just wondering.

In particular religious reasons. Also, I don't believe they can radically change your shift like from a day shift to a night shift. Some people just cannot work a night shift for numerous reasons.

I would absolutely check with my state dept of employment rather than take the word of some anonymous person on this board. Not to mention, different states probably have different rules.

I just feel like the process is not moving fast enough and I asked for this schedule change almost a month ago. She sent over the paperwork and hasn't said anything else since. It has been the two weeks since the supervisor said that work flow would change with reorganization of people/accounts. Still waiting. So had work for 2 days out of the week with no problems and then all of a sudden an email appears that help is needed for the weekend and also wanting people to change their schedules to the weekend. I finally told MQ goodbye! I finally got another contract job and they needed me to start pretty much immediately, so I quit without notice. In a way I feel bad for resigning without a 2-week notice, but I figure MQ would not give me a 2-week notice if they were letting me go.
