you pulled up a blank Word document while you were in Fluency and just typed nonsense letters while the voice file was running? Or while it is not running? If you have two computers, could you do that on your working computer while you did research on the other? Just how would this mess with their production emails we get? LOL. This brings a whole other deminsion to transcription. How can we mess with their numbers like they messed with ours?

I guess I have always been a rule follower. I show up on time, do my work, dont cherry pick, just work and be done. I dont understand the mentality of "have to get them" or "mess with them."

Some of us had morals instilled, and sadly this has gone to the wayside.

I guess I am oblivious to this new way of thinking.

What do you think happened to the morals of management? - I know 2 wrongs dont make a SM

right but dang, I get so tired of being on the short end of the stick. They use those stastitics to get us to do more, more, more, quicker, quicker, quicker but they dont compensate us for doing more, more, more, quicker, quicker, quicker. I just think it is time we play the game by THEIR rules.

and good at what I do but what has it gotten me? Horrible dictators, low pay when there is work, but most of the time there is no work. I am tired of being the "good girl" working harder and harder for less and less.

numbers" that bothers me. Are you sure it is worth maybe making our situation worse? Just my thought. What if it made our situation worse. I do understand how you feel, I am tired of it too. However, personally, I wouldn't go there that's all.

Here is how I screw with their stats - works to a degree

I still proofread,,so when Im done typing I either use the arrow (brings downtime down) or the mouse or nothing to go the other way...Sometimes I dont follow with the cursor when I am transcribing, sometimes I do..sometimes I highlight, sometimes I dont..And you know what, I have yet to see any difference in that stupid stat page they send out

Any here good with numbers? How would this affect - our stats? Good or bad? nm

First, needing to open a word document and typing nonsense to trick the monitoring program is unnecessary. All you need to do is use your foot pedal. If it isn't pushed after 30 seconds, it counts as not working in Fluency.

Second, and more importantly, you won't be messing with them at all. They get paid the same either way. However, your LPH will go way down which will cause some performance management and your benefit rate will drop. If you want to make minimum wage and possibly be fired for being a slowpoke worker, be my guest.

My inactive time is less than 2% and I am not even close to typing/editing the entire time. Obviously, I am sitting here typing this post!

Why is your inactive time so high? If you dont feel like working, leave the work for me. I have been running out daily!

Your LPH stats are derived from what you submit through Fluency not your keystrokes. I still can't wrap my head around how typing in a word document will do anything to your stats, because it won't, not even close.

It is against you if you are not typing, right? This way you are typing - as close to 100% of your time as possible. nm

First of all, like others said, just pressing your footpedal every few seconds will do the job. Also, if you want the program to think you are typing, you have to be typing in Fluency. If you are typing on something completely different or Fluency is not in front, it doesn't do a lick of difference. Otherwise, typing emails will be considered working on Fluency also.

Like another poster said, how bad is your inactivity rate? Mine is 5% and I'm up wandering or researching all the time. If your inactivity time is a problem, maybe you should just fix it instead of cheating the system.

I think this was a very large account and they could have divided the MTs who had this as their primary and put them on various other accounts. Yes, this would have overstaffed those accounts and more MTs would be getting NJA as we all scrambled for what work there was.
