the survey under the rug? No survey results posted, just a passing meaningless comment about it in Vern's address video.  The survey must have been so negative they cannot even lie about it.

I don't know how many people filled out the survey, but I put that the company treats its MTs like bottom feeders and so should not expect any loyalty or excitement about all their new changes, and I certainly cannot recommend this company to anyone else.  It is just a job until a better one comes along. I said "if you are expecting your MTs to be positive on this survey after all the pay cuts and taking away all incentives/bonuses to make a liveable wage, then you are too far up the food chain to understand the survey anyway and so why waste our (and your) time with it. What incentives do you give your MTs to even want do any more than the minimum requirements of the job, let alone take the time to do this survey without any compensation for it.  I am only doing it to vent, knowing it will not make any difference other than to vent frustration. Without monetary incentives you cannot motivate your MTs when there is no hope of growth, higher pay, etc., for MTs with this company."

I would like to ask Vern in person would he be happy doing his job for minimum wage with no bonuses and no hope of a raise in pay? How does he justify his wages compared to the MT wages considering what both jobs contribute to the company?

I am done, thanks for letting me vent

Many on here - mmmt

think that if you feel that way go find another job, go to school. Well, I agree with you about everything you said and pretty much said the same thing on the survey. It is not so easy to go out and "find another job" or "go to school." I am looking for another job but they are few and far between and don't want to go to school. I'm in my mid 50s and have no desire to go to school. I also don't have the money to go to school. I have bills to pay and need an income. If I was a lot younger, that might be an option. Besides that, I like my job and not just because I can wear my pajamas to work. I am good at my job, whether anybody believes it or not. I was hired on with this company as a transcriptionist and that is what I am. I just stay here believing that the bottom will fall out on them or they will change the way they treat us. Say what you want that it is going to be all editing some day, but I have accounts that have gone back to typing because ASR is flat out terrible. When lawsuits start flying, many of these hospitals that don't care about the quality will go back to relying on our brains, or when doctors b###h too much about point and click, they will come back. Many on here say they work with point and click and their place of business loves it. I know of many that hate it. Perhaps when doctors start leaving hospitals because of it, they will start getting it. Who knows what will happen in the future but I'm hopeful things will change and they will start appreciating us. Many on here will not do things that need to be done like don't do ASR on crappy jobs because they are worried about being fired or won't work outside their shift because they are worried about being fired. I say if you can't provide me with good ASR where it is worth it to do and if you can't provide me enough work to finish my shift, then I have to take it into my own hands. If you want to fire me, go ahead. I have a good work ethic but won't be taken advantage of. If more people had this work ethic, they wouldn't be getting away with what they get away with. Many say that would let them send more work to India. Well, many hospitals don't want their work to go to India. Many hospitals want the work done cheap but once they see what they get for cheap, they come back to us. I may have gone off track here a little but I just got my vent out too. LOL Have a good day.

what you said is what I felt my last months as an MT with the Q. I was forced to leave last fall when a full-time job opened up at my part-time employer - 2 pau cuts and loss of bonuses in less than a year, and my account of 10 years going to point-and-click, and all the other crap we all know about. I like my new job, but miss being an MT sometimes. Guess that's one of the reasons I still come on here, to see what is going on...... and maybe - hoping. I too believe that someday this crap of ASR and point and click will bite them in the butt; however, in the mean time I had to move on to pay my bills. I hope someday that perhaps I can use the skills I acquired over 10 years of employment. I spent my day off this week, and part of this evening FINALLY cleaning my home office and getting rid of some "stuff." Some of that "stuff" brought back good memories of when I was an MT with another company (before the Q bought us out) and at least felt valued, made a liveable wage (though less than I am making now) but was very happy. Best of luck to you and everyone else, and perhaps someday our paths will cross again as co-workers.

Yup, noticed it myself - old and burned out

I actually filled out the survey 3 times, all with exceedingly negative comments.

I posted on here recently that my brother had died. Although I am flexible part-time, I have worked for the company for 36 years (through buyouts, of course). I worked full time for most of those years. The answer I got from my CCM about my brother's death was that bereavement was for full-time employees only and I get no extra time off, even though it is unpaid. How does it hurt this company's bottom line to let me take a few extra UNPAID days off? If I hated them before you can imagine how I feel now.

Since I don't need the money, I will never work extra hours for them again and I can't wait to take another survey.

Me too - Silly Sue

I feel pretty much the same way about them now. Take care.

OMG, so sorry to hear about your brother, - anon

that really sucks. I hope you took the time off anyway.

Thank you for the condolences - old and burned out

My purpose in posting was not for sympathy but to give another example of just how low this company is. They want us to give up our plans and work extra for them when they need it but when a relative dies for God's sake, they don't even want to let you have some extra days off and this is UNPAID time, mind you. Yes, I took a couple of days and if I need more time I will take it and they can fire me or go to hell, whichever comes first.

wanted to give condolence as I just recently lost a family member that was unexpected and felt the need.

they would be making productive changes. I don't know why some people want survey results. What I want is good change that will make my life better based on the results. Although, this was an MQ survey pre-MModal. Either way, I doubt anybody who could make the changes did anything with the survey results. Maybe that is one reason they changed their name :) Technically, nobody works for the Q anymore ;)

They knew they were changing the name at the - anon

time the survey came out, you don't make that kind of decision overnight. MQ versus MModal, name will not change anything...same sweatshop under different name.

In my opinion, every once in a while a company will throw out an employee survey thinking it calms the masses, thinking it makes the employees feel their opinions matter, LOL. Funny they are stupid enough to believe we are all that stupid, espeically after all the other surveys that resulted in no positive changes for the MTs whatsoever related to what MTs conveyed on the surveys...show me the money

Amen ref survey/Vern's compensation - Blue Star

Amen to your post ref the survey. Of course they don't care. Below is a repeat post taken from the Yahoo Financial Page.

Under the Employment Agreement, Mr. Davenport will receive an annual base salary of $500,000 and will be eligible for an annual bonus award of up to $750,000 based upon the achievement of individual and corporate performance goals established annually by the Board. However, with respect to fiscal year 2011, Mr. Davenport will receive a guaranteed annual bonus of $562,500. In addition, the Company will each year pay or reimburse Mr. Davenport up to $35,000 in financial planning, tax preparation or supplemental life insurance costs.

How can he possibly be in touch with our plight. If stockholders call the shots, then I suggest everyone buy 1 share of stock so we can show up at the stockholders meeting and force a face-to-face showdown with these people. I am a former Teamster and although I don't fully agree with unions, it is company abuse like this that starts the ball rolling.

In almost every ASR report lately, there have been gross errors in the dosages of medications.  In 1 report today, it had Colace 70 mg when the dictator clearly said 100 mg.  Then in another report, it had Protonix 3 mg daily when the dictator said 40 mg daily.  Watch your dosages closely!!!!  Something is up! ...

Gave Notice To The Q
Dec 14, 2010

Hi all.  I've been doing medical transcription for over 20 years, and have been with the Q for almost 12 years (the first year in the office and at home, and then they sent us all home).  Been through all kinds of changes, from working in the local office and at home, to working at home, to being moved to the responsibility of another office, to that office closing down, then to working for a "virtual office" and finally a "service area."  I lost count of how many superv ...

Do You Ever Notice That Whenever You Communicate

Considering quitting Transcend w/o notice.  I understand I will not be able to be rehired.  In years past I quit MQ w/o working through my full 2 weeks too.  (I know... BAD, BAD, BAD.) I am concerned though that if I go to work for a smaller company and they are bought out by one of these 2  (which seems to be a high probability) I could be screwed.
