Anybody Ever Notice - Call Me Paranoid

Posted: Dec 18, 2011

That sometimes when you complete a job, the next job in the que downloads but then the second job that is supposed to come up in your que takes forever to show up? I sometimes think it has to take a minute to search for the very worst job to send me. Wink

Now that you mentioned it the past few days my second job was taking a longer to show up and I have been getting horrible sounding dictations. I am escalating the chain because evidently someone in the ladder does not believe me (1 guess who).

Also getting fuzzy, low grade static dictations. What is - up with that? nm

I said something about that - and was told

No one else is complaining, must be your headset.

no one else and mine is horrible too. Guess all our headphones went out at the same time.

I would not take that for an answer. Tell them you just purchased $100 headset and you still have the same trouble and they worked fine in the store when trying them out. I'm defending myself and not taking "BS" answers.
I did defend myself - and was told

I told them that my new headset was working perfectly on the old computer, and now got the new one and it sounds like the dictation is in a can, but with a lot of static. I was told to buy new headset and see if that helps.

Why would a new headset help when my NEW HEADSET did not?
I have some who sound like they dictate with the speaker phone on. - Sunflower

They need dictation etiquette 101. That was pretty rude of the ccm to tell you that. maybe keep a list of the bad dictations and send it to the person above her? Your the one that has to sit there dictation after dictation trying to do your job. I have been told from time to time sound quality was one of the hardest things to solve. You would think with all the technology out there this would not be an issue.

I also told my old PM I was having problems. Was always told it was ME that had the only problem. Finally, put in a call to the IT Dept. Was told by IT there was massive complaints about that same thing. PM would do nothing until so many of us started sending jobs to QA, her stats were impacted....certainly never cared if ours were. IT addressed the problem system wide and within 24 hours voice improved dramatically. Still occasional problems mostly from dictator using cells, dictating from home, etc. I still send all questionable voice to QA and let them deal with it. Since it seems as if they are cutting back on editors drastically, they very quickly fix the problem. Unfortunately, you almost have to set someone's hair on fire to get them to listen to you when it is your problem. If it impacts them directly, all of a sudden, the troops are called out to solve the issue. Good luck....very, very aggravating.
I would tell them â€Â¦ - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
.... that's funny, because my headset seems to work perfectly when I'm working for the "other" company - their dictations seem to be crystal clear and I have absolutely nooooo trouble deciphering it.

See if THAT gets their attention.
All MTSO want you to beleive you are only one with problem. - They are so full of it, no blue eyes there. nm

sounds like dictating from the cafeteria - in the car....

It almost like they are using a cell phone! I wonder? Yesterday a customer in the background was arguing with a cashier someplace, trying to get a refund for whatever. WTF?

You never heard such pinball machine sounds and little kids screaming in your life. Sometimes she dictates from what sounds like her kid's basketball game, sneakers squeaking on the gym floor, buzzers, yelling. Drives me friggin batty.

I have had one that used to dictate on the speaker phone and then would clean up her desk by gobbling up papers. Jeeze Louise - they should be made to listen to what we hear!
I think use to have that one.. - Sunflower
[ In Reply To ..]
It was an account in kentucky I believe and she was a PA and had a phone operator's voice like you see in the old movies. lots of background noises and would keep changing every second about what she had just dictated. I used to dread seeing a job download with her name as the dictator. Thank god she is out of my life.
I forgot to mention a bell used to go off... - Sunflower

every few seconds. It sounded like an egg timer. She was one oddball thats for sure!
I really don't think docs should use cells - You would think HIPAA would be on that. nm

HIPAA is a joke, My dr has me sign paper that basically negates - it, allows more access to my records by anyone. nm

Anyone Notice This Lately
May 19, 2010

In almost every ASR report lately, there have been gross errors in the dosages of medications.  In 1 report today, it had Colace 70 mg when the dictator clearly said 100 mg.  Then in another report, it had Protonix 3 mg daily when the dictator said 40 mg daily.  Watch your dosages closely!!!!  Something is up! ...

Anybody Notice This With 6.1?
Sep 07, 2010

remember the system used to automatically capitalize the first letter as you were typing..i.e. after a period (.) etc. well, it is no longer doing this....wonder why? wonder if there is a way to get it to do this as I found this to be a time saver...   ....upgrade?   things are seeming to take longer to me ??? ...

Did Anyone Else Notice This On 6.1?
Sep 07, 2010

For some reason I keep thinking they covered this on the tutorial...but I'm a shift and don't have time to figure it out.  When I did the spell check at the end (which took an exceptionally long time), it appeared all my text turned BLUE (liike it does when you highlight) and then disappeared! I didn't just lose my stuff, did I?Also so far, I don't see a big change in the headings. I'm typing them like normal.  And I couldn't remember the new numbering sy ...

You Ever Notice
Nov 21, 2012

in these few posts below that as they go on and you ask more questions, the OP reveals more and more about themselves and they give inconsistent answers and you can tell they really don't work for MM? I think some of these posts are made up. Changing the NJA policy for T-day? Letter of appreciation? Just trying to stir the pot and unfortunately too many people fall for it. Does anybody really believe a CCM sent an email telling us to check every 30 minutes tomorrow? That goes against ...

Job Notice
Apr 29, 2014

TLs And Notice
Dec 24, 2014

Yesterday, my TSM sent out an e-mail notifying us that in January, the team leads will be transitioning to other positions as that job description is being done away with.  All I can say is I sure hope they had more warning and that it was not a surprise.  The TSM also asked for patience with her as she assumes their duties.  I wanted to laugh as I have not been overall impressed with the duties she was already performing. ...

AP-ers: Anyone Else Notice...

... a lower rate of holiday pay on their most recent pay stub?  We're now supposedly being paid by the DOL wage determination rate based on where the facility is located. I volunteered to work on one of the new facilities until they got caught up.  The WDR for this facility is considerably less than the other facility I work on. I noticed that the holiday pay was according to the rate for the lower-wage facility that I agreed to temporarily work on.  ...

? About Two Weeks Notice
Mar 02, 2010

What if I don't give a 2 week notice?  Is it really gonna hurt me?  I doubt they give detailed information about what kind of employee you were.  Maybe just dates.  I have been with this company since the mid 90s and I hate to just up and leave like that, but I don't know if I can take it another day.  Every week its something new.  My pay is down to almost nothing.  With the type of reports I get, there is no way I'm making 5% and living with my ...

10 Years And No Notice
Mar 22, 2010

Got a call from the insurance girl at the doctor's office today.  Seems they've hired an in-house gal and are not needing my services after ten years.  I look back on all the missed vacations I never took.  Don't make my mistake.  No notice and my salary was approximately $36,000 a year.  I've been thrown to the sharks.  If any one needs a rheumatology gal, let me know.  My cable folks are turning me off, plus my phone, plus any other thing ...

Quit Without Notice
Apr 10, 2010

I quit without notice.  I think if a company is professional and treat you as a professional they deserve the courtesy of notice.  However, I worked for a company where management and supervision would answer e-mail questions with "your question or message has been assigned a number.  Please refer to this number in future correspondence regarding this.  My GAWD.  Give me a break!  When I got an e-mail after I told them I was out of there asking me if I was ...

Exactly Why I Gave No Notice
Apr 25, 2010

I read the post below from the MDI/Transcend MT who is struggling with BeyondTXT.  When I was informed last week that this platform was going to be installed on my computer in a day or so and then training would take place for God knows how long, I  hung up during the conference call and immediately resigned.  I had started another job, which I was going to give a trial period before leaving Transcend, but I realized that taking the time and effort to learn this unfriendly user pl ...

Turned In My Notice
Aug 18, 2010

I finally turned in my notice. I actually starting leaving abt 4 mos ago.  Took a PT gig w/another company and just love it. I had gotten to the point that I hated to come to work. I found that I did not hate my job I hated the company that I worked for. My husband told me to stop complaining and find something else and I did.  I went fulltime w/this company and am already making $4/hour more than I was at MQ and get this doing ASR....I hated ASR w/MQ. This companies system is so ...

With The Last Upgrade, I Notice

that it now capitalizes the next letter after a period with one space. Is there a trick to make that not happen when I have to insert a word before the next word ("the" or whatever).  Example:  ...a 34-year-old male admitted for cough.  patient complained of.... When I put the word "the" before "patient," it capitalizes the P in patient and I have to change it, or take out the period, put the word "the" in, and then put the period back in.  Is there any trick so as not to ha ...

Gave Notice To The Q
Dec 14, 2010

Hi all.  I've been doing medical transcription for over 20 years, and have been with the Q for almost 12 years (the first year in the office and at home, and then they sent us all home).  Been through all kinds of changes, from working in the local office and at home, to working at home, to being moved to the responsibility of another office, to that office closing down, then to working for a "virtual office" and finally a "service area."  I lost count of how many superv ...

Do You Ever Notice That Whenever You Communicate
Mar 04, 2011

if you say something they don't want to hear, especially if you're asking for something (samples, help, or a change of some sort), that you then start getting at least an entire day of the worst dictations in the entire account?  Especially the old, terrible ones that nobody can understand, almost like they were specifically saving them for people who ask for something? I suppose this is a feeble attempt to get us to not ask for anything in the way of help or improvements?  O ...

Just Gave My Notice!
Aug 11, 2011

Just gave my notice! Working for the Q was just too stressful! Pay was crap, hours were crap.  I couldn't take it anymore! My other company closed down (it was local) thanks to EMR.  I must have been desperate.  Just accepted another job for better pay and better hours.. ...

Turned In My Notice...
Aug 30, 2011

I've said this before w/in the last week, but again, I never bashed my former employers on here until the last few weeks.  I've been "owned" by MQ for awhile since they bought my previous (wonderful) employer maybe a year ago, and I've finally had it.  So excited to leave, but wishing those of you who are sticking it out the best.  If you're going to be nasty, don't even bother.  I've had enough life sucked out of me to argue w/ you.  Again, ...

Quitting W/o Notice
Nov 25, 2011

Considering quitting Transcend w/o notice.  I understand I will not be able to be rehired.  In years past I quit MQ w/o working through my full 2 weeks too.  (I know... BAD, BAD, BAD.) I am concerned though that if I go to work for a smaller company and they are bought out by one of these 2  (which seems to be a high probability) I could be screwed. In the field these days you have to have a FT job and try it out before you quit.  Then you are trying to do both and get ...

Anyone Notice How They Seemed To Have Swept

the survey under the rug? No survey results posted, just a passing meaningless comment about it in Vern's address video.  The survey must have been so negative they cannot even lie about it.  I don't know how many people filled out the survey, but I put that the company treats its MTs like bottom feeders and so should not expect any loyalty or excitement about all their new changes, and I certainly cannot recommend this company to anyone else.  It is ...

Leaving For New Job - How Much Notice?
Jun 21, 2012

Well, I am officially hired for a great new position - elsewhere of course - a partly in-house/and partly work from home place that seems to actually still be paying a decent wage to their transcriptionists.  Anyway, it all came about kind of suddenly and they need someone immediately, but not sure about how much notice to give to the service.  Any thoughts?  ...
