Found out Hospital has gone to EPIC - wise1

I was wondering why the amount of available jobs has dwindle to almost nothing, MTSO has some excuse like they are now dictating at night more etc etc... did a Google search and low and behond the hospital has put in the EPIC system... I have heard on here that it decreases the available work tremendously... and I'm here to tell you, it does. The end is near!!!!!

Do these MTSOs think we are so stupid we wont find out - the truth? We are google experts. nm

they are worried if they let people know their account is going to Epic or some other point and click system, they will quit and will lose the workers before they are ready to have the people leave. They know they are losing good workers left and right. I will be here to laugh when they all implode.

I know this has nothing to do with MT but on the radio today I heard a story about the largest bank in, I think, Britian going under. They said the reason was lack of regulations, taking on to many bad risks and buying up too many other banks. Hmmm, sound familiar.

The reports are a big, big mess. Wonder how they ever pass inspection or certification.

JCAHO used to deduct points in Medical Records when documentation had mistakes, now they must overlook a lot!!! I just cannot imagine.

I firmly believe that at some point some patient's life will be lost because of the crappy documentation in the chart, if it hasn't happened already.

Of course it has happened already. Family just - doesnt know. nm

TALK SOFTWARE - OAF

One of my accounts went to TALK software for radiology with no notice! Used to have almost 75 to 100 x-ray jobs a day with other work, now zip. These hospitals are so inconsiderate. Don't they realize there are people out here depending on those lines!! We had no notice either work just dried up. Saving the hospital $$ is the bottom line and unfortunately we are the brunt of that..... I feel for you it is happening everywhere and if it hasn't yet - beware it's just around the corner.

Look at their website and you can see lots of open positions. Epic will be put in place. Once it is, there will be NOTHING IN THE QUEUE. It happened at our hospital. We went from 25,000 ppp to a couple of hundred lines. MTs get ready to be slaughtered.

DQS completely and the hospital will drop MQ. Just curious about that. It seems Epic is the way to go and was not sure if that can be interspersed with DQS or eliminate MQ altogether with DQS. ...

The hospital I work for changed over the Editscript last year. Changeover went relatively smoothly, and we still had plenty of work to keep all the transcriptionists busy (after we stopped outsourcing the overflow we used to have). Recently, the hospital switched to Epic electronic medical record system, and within a week the transcription workload plumeted to probably 40% of our former workload --not enough to keep our transcription staff busy. It seems the doctors/nurses/etc ...

Venting session! I am a part-time work-at-home transcriptionist employed at a local hospital as "resource". When I started a couple months ago we had over 1500 jobs in the "cue" with mandatory overtime ... then along came EPIC. The regular employees are working in 2 hour shifts so everyone can get a few reports in ... having under 75 dictations has become the norm and there isn't enough work for them ... and I have had no work for 6 weeks. ...
