Did they Eliminate the 'PAUSE' command?? - Morgan

Posted: Dec 24, 2012

How would the doctors like it if every patient they saw paused for over a minute between words? Then they complain when we are out of TAT. Can they comprehend that for all the hours MTs are left sitting at their desks not producing because they are waiting and waiting for the next word to finally ooze from the dictator's mouths, they are delaying TAT for that report? I wonder if they are aware how much time we spend working while producing nothing.

OMG...I have so complained about that...I have a doc and she will mumble, rudely change her sentences without ever saying I'm sorry, or excuse me...or back up, etc...I love how these are legal documents and the dictators do not seem to give that even a second thought...yet if we type it wrong....who gets the noose? the doc? no....us. This particular doc will not be prepared...will have a 10-minute (I kid you not) with someone there with her about how angry she is about some hospital rule, etc. as I sit there twiddling my thumbs, unproductive. These dictators should at least be "weighted"....Why did I leave my 16.00 an hour/with incentives job at the local hospital thinking I'd be happier at home? ...and the fact that this hospital would "weight" particularly difficult dictators so that whoever got those jobs got paid more for them. I gotta quit reading here! lol...bringing out the beast in me...."honey, about that extra money you need to be earning...."

How about cell phones? - Lucy

They need to stay off their cell phones while dictating. I don't want to sit and wait until they answer and have a conversation.

SR: Do They Even Have A PAUSE Command??
May 15, 2015

Started a new job this week and I can't see how I can make minimum production due to the long pauses in every report I have done so far.  They must not even have a Pause command in the software, as why would 100% of the dictators suddenly stop using it?  I'm sure others know the stress of the threat of termination with each long pause dimishing their counts.  ...

Does Anyone Know If The Dictation Software Developers Omitted The "pause" Command?
Feb 17, 2013

What happened?? With my own accounts I've worked for 100 different doctors and every single one used the pause as a standard courtesy. Today - not ONE single dictator uses it, yet some still keep saying "sorry" when they have more than 10 seconds of dead air time. Do the dictators now consist of a new generation of rudeness or did they "forget" to include a "PAUSE" command in the programs??? ...

Eliminate The MTSO - Thoughts?
Apr 09, 2015

For others who have had it with the miniscule wages, unreasonable expectations and unethical business practices, have you thought about working directly for the providers again?   What would it take to be able to do this?   Are all EMRs set up to receive dictation?  Anyone know how we would integrate our services with the EMR and the approximate cost? I would think that for providers who are fine with 24-hour turnaround, we could offer the same service they are receivi ...

Unsure Where To Pause
Nov 09, 2009

I am usure as to where one thought ends and the next begins as in the part of plantar flexion in the toe at teh extremes....something just does not seem like I have the sentences correct. Any idea what I am doing wrong? tia.   Evaluation of the foot does show dorsomedial bony prominence that is tender to palpation.  There is also pain with passive dorsiflexion and plantar flexion in the toe at the extremes.  She is stiff as compared to the contralateral side.  ...

The Pause Button
Dec 20, 2010

Dictator states to another in the room - What's the button for pause on this thing? Other person in room - Don't worry about it, just let it run...the secretary doesn't care. What!?  Thank you for encouraging dead spaces in the dictation, I enjoy sitting here not getting paid, listening to papers shuffling and chattering in the background.  Oh, and I'm a Medical Transciptionist/Medical Language Specialist, not the secretary. ...

Dictators And 'PAUSE' Button.
Jan 24, 2013

Does anyone know if EMRs still even have a pause command? Do dictators have any concept that they are forcing us to sit idly without pay while they flip pages looking for lab results, or reviewing a chart? Maybe the MTSOs should advise their clients that if they want their reports back within the specified TAT that they cannot waste hours of our time sitting and doing nothing. ...

Hourly MT Compensation Plumets From Dictators Refusing To Use 'Pause'
Jun 05, 2013

Last night I was stuck editing an ESL doctor who pauses so long between words my hourly rate dropped down to less than $2. an hour! I filed & painted all my nails between words, cleaned and organized my desk and sat for an agonizing minutes with nothing to do but wait. The neighbors could probably hear my yelling "COME ON!!!!! SAY SOMETHING YOU ____ _____ _____ _____"   Why do these ... people not even think to use the pause command?  The clients and MTSOs can bitch about TAT ...

Question About A Command On MM's
Apr 17, 2015

Fluency.  I remember on MSWord there was a command to move the report up without your cursor leaving its spot so you didn't have to stare at the bottom of your monitor all day.  Of course if you page down, your cursor moves, so that doesn't work on Fluency.  Does anyone know if there's a similar command?   (I would love to have that command as well as ctrl-arrowing placing the cursor at the end of the word rather than the beginning, like it is in eScription.& ...

Weird Command When Editing?
Mar 21, 2011

I have noticed this a few times now.  About halfway into a report, when I hit ctrl+shift+m to jump to where the text is, the cursor goes to the very end of the document.  Whenever I hit ctrl+shift+m after that, it goes directly to the end, never to where the text/audio is synched.  Is there a command that makes this happen that I am doing accidentally?  Anyone know how to reverse this.  It is soooo annoying to not be able to jump directly to where I want to be!! Thanks. ...

I have read some of the comments on this company, but they are about 9 months old, so I am looking for more current information. I am so tired of having to jump from company to company because so many of them lie in their company information. Here are some of my questions: Does TransformMT have enough work? Command Health Advice
Oct 07, 2013

Like I've said in previous reviews/posts about this company, if it's the cardiology account, you were warned.  They have other accounts and Transform accounts, but if its' the cardiology account, you will not make any money.  MOST, like 98%, of all jobs are very short and if you use free Express Scribe, which they have and will download on your computer, the quality if bad and hard to hear the docs clearly.  You have to buy a voiceplayer like Gearplayer $200, Bytesc ...
