Any new Command Health people? - whatthewhat

Posted: Feb 20, 2014

I've been there for a couple of weeks and so far am not too impressed with volume of work available (ie not enough work for the number of people grabbing from pool) or with communication (ie there is pretty much NO communication about ANYTHING). There are good things about this place compared to my previous job, but I hope things improve in other areas.

If anyone works there and has any thoughts to share, please feel free.

I just applied and tested for acute care. - waiting

Waiting to hear back. I would love to hear about your experiences also. Don't want to jump from the pan into the fire.

Me either! - anon

I'm not real happy with it. Everyone is different and others may love it, but SR editing is not for me. I was pumped up about this job with all the extras and bonuses mentioned that I could make, but I'm going to starve to death at the rate I've been going. :(

Like you, I've also encountered low work loads and spotty communication.

That's why I left. The stress of trying to compete for every job that you could get was really taking a toll on me and flowing into my personal life.

In the year I was there, I maybe had 5 what I'd call full paychecks.

And communication went out the door there when they became Command Health instead of Transform.

Thank you for your responses. Every day that goes by and I keep clicking "Refresh" again and again to see an empty pool all day, I know more and more that I really made a bad move going to this company.

Are any of you employee status? I need the benefits which is why I took employee status. Well, apparently I didn't understand their criteria for FT/40 hours to be eligible for health insurance. You are not eligible for benefits until you are averaging $100/day. I am nowhere near that at this point, and I really don't see how I will reach that point. I know it's my own fault for not getting complete info before accepting this job.

Supposed to be but... - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm nowhere near making $100/day to become an employee. :(

I also feel I made a bad move coming on board. I finally got put on two backup accounts but still have times where there is no work for me on all three accounts. I am NOT going to babysit my computer all day just to try to have enough work to make $100/day, as I do have a life outside of MT.

I feel like I was misled in coming on board here and am going to move on elsewhere.
Anon, I feel the very same way - whatthewhat

...and agree with every word of what you said! OMG. It's very disheartening to hear others are having trouble making the 100/day. What if you make 100/day for one review period, and you get benefits, but the next review period you aren't making 100/day. Then do they take away your benefits till the next review 2 months later? How can one provide health insurance for their family with such a ridiculous benefits program? Am I missing something here, or is this just a horrendous way to do it? I don't get it. And it's not like I'm a brand new MT. I've been at this for quite a few years. But the drafts require a LOT of editing so even when I go my fastest, I'm not fast enough to make 100/day at 4 cpl.

The thing that hooked me here was "flexibility." Now I realize the kind of flexibility they meant was for me to flex my entire day around "babysitting my computer" as you said, Anon, waiting for work. Now I know that all the employee-status people are waiting, like I am, to dive on any crumbs that show up in the pool in a desperate attempt to produce enough lines to still be eligible for benefits. Oh my. What a mess.
Exactly - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I've been an MT for quite a few years, also. I've only done straight typing, however, so I felt that might be the reason I'm so slow at editing SR. I was told speed would come with time. How much time? I can't starve while waiting to build up speed to make $100/day! I'm barely doing more lines with all the editing that's required than I was able to straight type daily! I was much better off straight typing and never want to see another editing job again!

Anon, may I ask how long you've been with Command? Have you been here long enough to become employee status but haven't been able to achieve the gross pay required? My first review will not be till the end of April, apparently, but I do not expect to be at 100/day (in fact, I highly doubt I'll even still be working here anymore by then).

Not long - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
A little less than a month... I don't feel there is any way I could ever achieve employment status without monitoring the work around the clock, and I refuse to do that just to get my required amount, which is terribly confusing to try to figure out by the way!

Oh well. Yeah, it's a whole lot of capping, bolding, and researching doctors' names to cc that aren't in the database - always have to look them up on your own. You're lucky if it happens to be in the history (if that pulls up). Also, the website almost NEVER shows up the names of the clinical trials, or at least I've hardly ever had any luck with it... I'm really bummed about it.

Hi! No, don't jump from the pan into the fire.

Secondly, no one needs to feel bad about themselves because of decisions made about the field of transcription now. I avoided the boards this second time because I wanted a fresh perspective. After I said goodbye to them, I looked at the boards and found comfort in the same scenarios popping up. God Bless everyone and hang in there regardless of what your decision is...to stay, not stay, or getting totally out of the field. Hugs!
yes, beware of companies that offer "flexible" hours - mykid

and "competitive" line rates. That translates to having to work 12-14 to make an 8 hour day and also cheap next to nothing pay.

I work there as a p/t employee, and I spend roughly 60 hours per week babysitting the computer and only earn about $125/week. The bulk of the work usually comes in after 5 p.m., and then everyone jumps on and scoffs up the work within an hour. And don't get me started on their Rapid Response nonsense.
UGHHH - whatthewhat
[ In Reply To ..]
I want a do-over!! Never should have come here!

What about Rapid Response? I remember it being mentioned during my chats w/the recruiter but haven't heard anything about Rapid Response since I've started working.
Rapid Response - Me
[ In Reply To ..]
Basically, Rapid Response means that the goal is to keep your queues free of work at all times. If you don't get the files done "fast enough", then they add other MTs to the queue so the work can get done faster. I lost an account because the account is in the Pacific time zone, I'm in Eastern (which they knew when they put me on the account), and they send their files over after 8:00 p.m. my time. I wasn't getting to them until the next morning, and I was told that letting them sit there for over 11 hours is too long. So they added an MT to "help", and now the files are gone as soon as they hit the queue.
Should also add... - me
[ In Reply To ..]
There is absolutely no pay incentive for getting the files done the minute they come in. It's just stress of getting to the work before someone else does; kind of like animals fighting over a piece of meat. :(
Thanks for the info, Me. sm - whatthewhat

Man. Talk about a lose-lose situation for us. Totally ridiculous. Do you have secondary accounts? I've asked once for a secondary and was told "next week." Well, next week has come and gone with no mention of a secondary. I know I need to ask again but I just don't feel like it on principle, although I know that's not how it works...have to beg and ask and "remind" multiple times and feel like a pest...which is just so darn irritating.
I have - me
[ In Reply To ..]
5 primary accounts. If more than one of my accounts has a file in it at the same time, I only get to do one because, while I'm working on one, inevitably, someone else gets to the other one(s) at the same time. It's a futile situation.

I love it here - jules

I have been with Commandhealth for a year now. Actually hired into TransformMT but of course then became Commandhealth. I love my job and the company. My supervisors are great. Total open communication available to me whenever I need anything. Work the hours I want and nothing more. Not micromanaged at all. In the year I have been here, I have had maybe 5 days that I have had to wait a few hours for my work to start pouring in, but nothing worse than that. Maybe it's different boss to boss, but I have been completely happy with the 2 I have worked under (changed to new account when a new go-live happened so I could have a Monday to Friday work week).

TransformMT/Command Health
Jan 07, 2013

I have read some of the comments on this company, but they are about 9 months old, so I am looking for more current information. I am so tired of having to jump from company to company because so many of them lie in their company information. Here are some of my questions: Does TransformMT have enough work? What do they call a line? Count headers/footers, etc.? What is their usual starting pay (by the way MTs, I cannot believe how these companies are getting away with paying us so little... ...

Command Health Advice
Oct 07, 2013

Like I've said in previous reviews/posts about this company, if it's the cardiology account, you were warned.  They have other accounts and Transform accounts, but if its' the cardiology account, you will not make any money.  MOST, like 98%, of all jobs are very short and if you use free Express Scribe, which they have and will download on your computer, the quality if bad and hard to hear the docs clearly.  You have to buy a voiceplayer like Gearplayer $200, Bytesc ...
