MD-IT/Command Health - Skye

Posted: Feb 27, 2013

I worked for MD-IT for 3+ years. I started out full time but this past summer switched to part time because I have two smalll chidren at home  My supervisor said it was competely fine and when I wanted to switch back over, just let her know and she would take care of it.  I had not switched back over to full time because of some family issues but was planning on doing this starting this January, which my supervisor also knew.  Over the summer, I started noticing that I was getting less and less work and that girls from other accounts were just jumping onto mine - even when my accounts were caught up and they were even working the folllowing few days work!  I kept asking for more work or more accounts and more and more work.  I even volunteered at least 3 weekend days every month for hospice just to sit and watch and see if something came in to type - if not, there was no pay involved even though you had to kind of stick by the computer, but it was worth it because there was always the chance that work would come through!  I needed the $$.  Then this past December they accused me of cheating on my time sheet which is pretty impossible since its all there in the computer and I would never do that anyway!  I take pride in my work and integrity as a person and as an MT.  Also, my QA scores were always around 99.5 and I'd even gotten 99.9 a few times.  Any way, the next time I submitted my time sheet, I went over it 3 times to make sure that it all added up correcty so I would not get accused again of trying to "cheat" because I was told if it happened again we would have a manditory phone conversation and posssible "disicipinary action".  About 1/2 hour after submitting my time sheet, my superviser told me it was rejected because I had put down FIVE days that I didn’t work and therefore my line counts were way off.  I told her I DID work every single day I put down and went in to look and was totally shocked  to see them completely wiped out - all 5 days and alll that hard work and line counts - GONE.  (Just the week before this happened, my supervisor offered me another account - a new one coming in and I jumped on it and said DEFINITELY AND I CAN START FULL TIME ON IT IMMEDIATEY NEXT WEEK.)  Lucky for me, I had one report with a blank on it for one of the days I was acccused of not working - and my own supervisor had corrected the blank but instead of standing up for me, she took away my accounts the next time I went in to work.  I asked her what was up and she said we had to have a manditory phone conversation and then picked a time she knew I would not be able to make it because I had to be at the bus stop for my 6-year-old son at that exact time.  I asked if we could reschedule, didn’t hear anything back and so told her and HR that if they were going to fire me, why waste time - just email me so she emailed me and said they no longer had any work for part time people and they were getting rid of all the part time workers - incuding me - even though the week before I stated I wanted to go back full time.  So telll me, anyone out there - ARE THERE STILL PART TIME WORKERS at MD-IT/Command Health?

Because of the way I was treated with this company (and I have 15+ years in transcription) I have decided to switch to a new career.  I have NEVER been accused of lying or cheating when THEY WERE THE ONES DOING IT - although its funny because they did pay me the correct amount in my paycheck that those 5 days would have added up to plus my other days.  Hmmmmmm.  And I was never, ever let go or fired from a job and the reason for it - total and utter nonsense - and also they way they handled it was totally unprofessional! I actually have an attorney looking into it.

I'd love to hear back from anyone who has experienced anything like this with this company and if there is anyone there working part time still.  Thank you!

So sad - x-MT

I used to love this company. I saw the writing on the wall and left a couple of months ago before it could get critical (btw, I was working part time and had no change in my accounts). This past week, one of my best friends there was locked out of their system. No email. No phone call. No explanation. No contact or indication whatsoever. Thankfully, she had just landed a new job and was going to be leaving them at the end of this month so it wasn't as bad for her as it could have been. But that doesn't speak at all to the company I knew and loved.

I'm sorry you find yourself in this position. I wish you luck as you change careers!

Sorry for your experience - I am currently FT but that will

Will change with all these new rules, and I am not the only one. Since this Command Health switch, they have made it nearly impossible for anyone to get production and my line count has taken a drastic drop through no fault of my own. The work is just not there. So now getting busted down to PT for lack of production is the next step and there is nothing I can do about it. They decided to open up the queues, taking a page out of the big companies' books, and the turnover of MT's is going to happen. No way to get production and then no way to get benefits.

I totally agree - they ruined what was once a great company.

What regions is this going on? nm - MIMT

I am guessing it is the Central Region and the treatment of this supervisor is not unique as I am going through a very similar situation. Proably the most unethical, underhanded, and deceitful company I have ever worked for. Double standards seem to be the norm. How do these people sleep at night?

It's not just MD-IT - Transform/MDNetwork too

[ In Reply To ..]
This company was made up of sucking up smaller companies. Up to now, they've not had centralized anything. Each office sort of ran like it aways had when it was MD-IT or whatever company name it had.

They started reorganizing with MDNetwork, now are reorganizing (re-reorganizing?) as Command Health and branching into ways to cut out the MT and streamline the health record.

Good luck with anyone who stays. If you can live with that knot in your stomach that says 'THERES A REPORT, QUICK, HIT THE BUTTON BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT' then more power to you. IMO, that's no way to live and keeps your stress levels high and helps to keep you unhealthy.

So much happier since I said no thanks, time to move on ma'am.

I am sorry for your bad experience, but I would like to make an observation: Never tell a manager to just go ahead and fire you. For one thing, it sounds like an admission of guilt. Find another job first and quit voluntarily or wait for a lay off. In some states, getting fired means that you can't draw unemployment. Also, don't make the assumption that you are going to get fired. You did not know the reason for the meeting, it could have been something entirely different. Transform is now part of Command Health and I had a couple of opportunities to work for them which I did not accept. I had problems with there being no central office. I could not pin the recruiter down on where payroll was being done or a physical address. Also, I had a bad feeling when the recruiter called me from a cell phone instead of a land line. Maybe that's normal these days, but it made me uncomfortable.

I'm guessing your response is directed at the OP.

I would like to say tho, they aren't a shady company. They are legit. They used to be wonderful. Now they are just like every other company out there where they are having to tend to the bottom line and the MT becomes a commodity, not a human.

I found it really upsetting to see formerly great managers suddenly being autobots. The caring was gone. Once that was gone, there was no reason to stay and have to fight for every line.
poor quality work - anon

The supervisors have a way of manipulating the work by adding more and more MTs to get the work done quicker, their new "Rapid Response" program, which means less lines for the regular MTs on that account. The quality is getting to be so poor because they will throw just about anybody in there, and it's going to come back to bite them in the butt. I just have to sit back and shake my head at the demise of this company. I have seen so many gross, negligent errors by new MTs who are obviously NOT familiar with the accounts, and apparently this is now acceptable because nothing is being done about it.
I agree - Been tossed around myself
[ In Reply To ..]
I totally agree. I myself has been bounced around and not really knowing specifics and not being able to get a hold of the supervisor. It is frustrating, because a new account can slow you down and I have even been asked to work on other late work when my own stuff is late. I have started to keep a journal for when they try to screw me (notice I said when NOT if).

TransformMT/Command Health
Jan 07, 2013

I have read some of the comments on this company, but they are about 9 months old, so I am looking for more current information. I am so tired of having to jump from company to company because so many of them lie in their company information. Here are some of my questions: Does TransformMT have enough work? What do they call a line? Count headers/footers, etc.? What is their usual starting pay (by the way MTs, I cannot believe how these companies are getting away with paying us so little... ...

Command Health Advice
Oct 07, 2013

Like I've said in previous reviews/posts about this company, if it's the cardiology account, you were warned.  They have other accounts and Transform accounts, but if its' the cardiology account, you will not make any money.  MOST, like 98%, of all jobs are very short and if you use free Express Scribe, which they have and will download on your computer, the quality if bad and hard to hear the docs clearly.  You have to buy a voiceplayer like Gearplayer $200, Bytesc ...

Any New Command Health People?
Feb 20, 2014

I've been there for a couple of weeks and so far am not too impressed with volume of work available (ie not enough work for the number of people grabbing from pool) or with communication (ie there is pretty much NO communication about ANYTHING). Does Command Health Require A Set Schedule?
Jan 19, 2014

I have a friend that worked at MD-IT prior to the Command Health buyout. She is still with the MD-IT division (or whatever they call it now), is employee status but is able to work whenever she wants as long as she meets line requirement and doesn't go over 40 hours a week. Is this the way it is across the board for Command Health? I thought I needed an IC job for flexibility, but if I could have that flexibility as an employee that would be great. Thanks for the info. ...

Command Health - So Many Phone Calls
