Aren't any companies hiring part-time? Frustrated! - frustrated

I have applied at so many of these companies, taken and apparently passed the tests, filled out extensive interview forms, only to have them get back to me with "we don't have any part-time positions at this time". This is getting old and I am really getting frustrated.

without first finding out if they actually have a position available, the shifts available, and an estimate of their pay scale. It saves A LOT of time.

Wish I had done that before applying and testing with QED - No word yet from them

Their HR Dept. must be the most disorganized in the medical transcription field. Wouldn't work for them now. Never, never, never!

After I've sent my resume, when they respond telling me they're interested and want me to test, I usually just email back and ask if they'd mind answering a few questions about the position before I begin the testing process. They're always very nice about it. It saves them time as well because if the position isn't a fit, they would waste time grading your test and interviewing, etc.

hire PT at all due to liscensing costs for their platforms, programs, etc. They pay those and state that a PT does not warrant the cost.

I've been looking too. Even ones that say they are hiring part-time and full-time come back with they are only hiring full-time. Why they put the ads in that they are hiring PT when they aren't is the kicker. I agree with the last post - check before you test..

I find that a lot of places online have outdated employment pages. For example, back in 2005 one place typed up a few paragraphs stating they had PT, FT, weekends and evenings. It was true in 2005 but it's not true now, they now only want FT and weekends, but they never corrected what's on their webpage. I take what their webpages say with a grain of salt.

Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done.
