Webmedx employees ... are you happy? Would you recommend them? - applied today

Posted: Jul 25, 2010

In doing a search, I did not see many recent posts.  Thanks in advance!!

They over hire - many running out of work now - recruiters still at it I see

Its an OK place to work but has been in a downhill spiral for the last couple years. I keep looking to quit but its seems there's noplace left to go that's any better. Getting really sick of fighting for work though.

I am happy and I would recommend them. sm - Snookie

I disagree with Ms Broken Record below who bleats "they overhire" every time anyone asks about the company. I do agree that some people run out of work on certain days or shifts, or ACCOUNTS, but overall I think it is a good place to work, fair managers, decent line counts and production, decent benefits.

How rude Snookie - new low even for you - Snookie = WMX management

[ In Reply To ..]
Why did you have to throw in the snide comment "who bleats..."

For those who are contemplating WMX take note: this is how management views and treats us. Good luck to you. I would go to a different company.

I'm happy at Webmedx too - notsnookie

And I'm not management. I'm happy at Webmedx. Have been for years. Management and STM treat me well. JMHO.

This board is predominantly filled with unhappy MTs. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but just how it seems to be. One or two very unhappy MTs can make a lot of noise.

Sorry you are so unhappy. Another company might be a better fit for you.
I can't believe you consider being treated well... - Unhappy at WMX

having your pay cut for editing on new software that is absolutely horrible and actually deducts a small amount of lines from every report that you do.

They constantly overhire. Everyone who has been working there for any length of time knows that. My manager even openly admits that accounts are overstaffed to prevent them from going out of TAT.

They DO overhire - tell the truth Snookie!

[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe they don't overhire ON YOUR ACCCOUNTS but they sure as heck do on mine! They are notorious for it and we are all aware that they do it. Its the plain truth, no matter what management "bleats" about how great a place it is. Overhiring is constant at Webmedx and has been for some time. Goody for YOU for having a plum account/prime hours that never runs out of work - must be management is bribing you well to be their cheerleader! For the REST of us, without YOUR perfect combination of account, shift and days - yes we DO have a problem with running out of work! Enjoy YOUR reality but stop denying ours!

Webmedx - RADMT

[ In Reply To ..]
No I wouldn't recommend them. I worked there for 4 years and was laid off last September because of lack of work.

But you were only doing radiology, right? That's why you were nm - Out Of Work

[ In Reply To ..]
The more you know how to do, the better employable you will be.

Other people run out of work - not just rad

[ In Reply To ..]
But its so much easier to blame a rad MT than admit bad workflow management. Its so much easier to say the MT is limited than acknowledge their supervisor has set a limit on how many accounts they can train on. So VERY easy to say that since YOU never run out of work, nobody else does either. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes - your uptopia may be next to crumble.

Extremely unhappy at Webmedx - Crystal

Reasons:
ISR (ignorant speech recognition). They call it "intelligent speech recognition"--haven't seen that intelligence yet--pay cut not justified.
Overhire/runs out of work many accounts regularly. Sometimes their ISR engine has the work though, while we sit here getting NSA messages. They tell us to flex a while and then come back if we get NSA messages to see if we have work. Said work is usually mangled by ISR if available.
Campaigns employees to nominate them as Employer of the year AHDI and some select employees for Best Places to work in Healthcare survey so they can toot this skewed horn to perspective clients.
Etc.

Correction to previous post, etc. - Crystal

[ In Reply To ..]
Should be prospective clients.

Webmedx also likes to try to shove AHDI down our throats. However, one look at who sponsors their convention (MQ, Webmedx and Webmedx's school M-TEC, Spheris--now bankrupt, and others), shows that they are a useless TOOL with an unseemly alliance with these MTSOs and surely sends a perception of conflict of interest.

Unhappy at Webmedx - Betty Boop

Crystal--you are so RIGHT about that survey they sent to "selected individuals". I found it VERY telling that by the second or third "Reminder" that told us it was "due" by last Friday that only 14% of people had responded. Which makes me wonder if the other 86% are grossly unhappy with Webmedx--especially with this new M-Modal engine killing our paychecks and morale?

No, but I'm in QA - K

Maybe some are happy as MTs. Enterprise QA has experienced some big changes in the last several weeks, and they've lost employees over it. If you like inconsistency, micromanagement, and mismanagement in general, you'll probably feel right at home in QA. I can't recommend working in Chartmatrix as either an MT or QA. Many of the employees that were brought in are nasty toward each and condescending to the MTs, in my opinion. They don't see it that way because that's the environment they're used to. Those of us who worked for Webmedx before they bought TH see it clearly. And before someone says "you must not make your production," etc., (as if you can't have a negative opinion of a company if you're not somehow failing) I make my production. My work is just fine. The sentiment from everyone I've heard from in QA is that it's a very miserable place to work right now. It wasn't always this way.

Working as an MT in Enterprise might be okay. Still, I would recommend having more than one job because some MTs who have several accounts do experience work running out.

WebMedX Employees BEWARE!
Jul 19, 2011

My company was bought out by Nuance several months ago and it has turned into a complete nightmare!  Not only are the managers and sups arrogant and awful, but literally all the decent work has been sent to India and we are left with the dregs.  The benefits stink,  The people stink,  I feel so sorry for what you are in store for.  At the time of the buyout, we were told nothing would change.  That lasted for all of a month.  Then BAM!  Watch out! ...

Questions For Webmedx Employees...
Oct 09, 2011

I'm trying to decide if I want to joint the Webmedx team and would love to ask a couple questions before speaking with the recruiter. During a typical day do you know if the next job you are pulling from the "pool" will be either straight transcription or VR?  Does it bounce between the 2?  Would you say it is 50/50? Say you are hired p/t, does that mean you can work any 4 hours in a 12 hour window? Could you work more if you if you want to? Appreciate answers to any/ ...

Any Happy Superior Global Employees?
Mar 11, 2011

I have been made an offer recently from Superior Global.  I do have Escription experience, although my preference is straight typing, but I am beginning to wonder if we won't all have to make the transition to VR eventually.  I personally do prefer straight typing, but have done fairly well in the past with the Escription platform.  Just wondering if this is a stable company and if there truly are happy MTs there?  ...

Webmedx Employees--question About Slowness
Jun 11, 2010

Hi fellow Webmedxers... Just got a new computer AND started on New Version Enterprise.  Issues galore, the biggest being slowness--what I mean is it seems like when I start transcribing fast as usual, the software (?) struggles to keep up with me and slightly pauses here and there and then misspells words--it's driving me CRAZY.  I'm usually a high producer but right now that's gone to pot.  Anyone know exactly WHAT is causing this craziness--the new computer ...

To All The "happy" Transcend Employees
Dec 20, 2010

Love reading all the posts on Transcend. For those of you that are happy there, good for you. You must be one of the ones that either "cheat/cherry pick" or your TL/ROM is your best buddy.  The region I work in is notorious for people cherry picking and when TL and ROM are told about this, nothing happens.. No wonder some people are happy. If I could pick and choose what jobs and what doctors  I wanted to do I'd probably be a lot happier too. It either forces you to "do the same" ...

OMG How Funny - Read Glassdoor Opinion Of Employees, US Versus Indian Employees!
Aug 05, 2013

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor.  You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars.  Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India.  What a difference.  They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years.  The US transcriptionists are very sad!!  What a difference..... ...

Happy Transcriptions Is Still Happy
Aug 19, 2013

Who in their right mind names a company "Happy Transcriptions?" In this day and age, all I see is "sad" MTs and, in my opinion, if "Happy Transcriptions" is still happy, they can only be messing even more with us poor "sad" MTs. All I can say is I am so "happy" I am so close to being on my way out of MT! ...

Why I Would NOT Recommend ATSI
Feb 19, 2010

Hello all! I am new to this forum and would just like to share my thoughts with you as I have read through some of your postings about different MT companies out there, like "Should I work here?" So, as nicely as I can say it, in a matter of my opinion:  My Top Ten Reasons why I would NOT recommend ATSI: 1. The pay. Straight CPL no matter if it's days, nights, weekends, holidays. 2. No raises, incentives, or bonuses. 3. NOT employee status...EVER...even after 90 days, you will ...
