TTS ridiculous wages - WAKE UP!

It kinda looks like TTS can't get anyone to work for them with their ridiculous wages.  You'd think they would have figured it out by now.

At Nuance you don't know how much you make per line until end of week and then you do the calculations and find your pay scale on this grid. Try explaining to someone how much you make per line. "Well,,,, it depends."

What I find totally ridiculous about TTS is that they not only micromanage you, but they give you these very difficult accounts with bad dictators and page upon page of account specifics (mine had 15) which change and update every couple of days, that you are supposed to commit to memory, never make an error or drop below the required 98%, and they want to pay you these low slave labor wages! As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" and if TTS or any of these MTSOs are going to take on really difficult accounts, they need to up their pay scale to acquire and keep good MTs!!

There are a lot of reasons to take a job, I have looked at all my options and if I were to take a job somewhere else, say they were to pay 11 to 12 dollars an hour to start, then subtract 4 dollars an hour to pay for daycare for 2 kids, not a lot of options. This way I can still be home for my kids and not pay for daycare, or gas or dressy work clothes. If you don't have kids at home, more power to you to find something else.

Many SAHM's probably did MT for the insurance benefits years back but seriously, how could you get any work done with a bunch of little kids playing (screaming,yelling and crying) in the background? Many of us ended up at home not because we were antisocial or had kids to take care of but because it was more cost effective for the hospitals and the MTSOs to have us work remotely. If you don't have kids at home, the more power to stay put. I hear it is a jungle in the work place these days. Not too many people wear dressy work clothes any more. Times have changed.

I don't consider myself a SAHM, I work at home, there is a difference. That is almost as bad as people who say oh you work at home? What a great hobby to have! Huh? Hobby? No, I went to school for this before I had kids, trained in the office for a few months, then worked at home. Since then, I have had 3 kids. It is not always easy, it is why I have split shifts to work while they are napping or after they have gone to sleep. As they got older they took fewer naps, so they play with each other with trains, blocks, whatever while I am still there to supervise them. It takes a lot of determination, talent and dedication to be an MT. I have looked at all my options, went to interviews. People still wear nice clothes to work, that has not changed. It is just not cost effective to pay daycare to work a day job where they pay 11-12 dollars an hour with more than one kid in daycare.

that they are the lowest-paying company out there. I don't know if that's true, but maybe if enough MTs would stand up for themselves and say, for instance, "I have 15 years of oncology experience and I'm very good at what I do, so if you'll pay me XX, I will come to work for you. Otherwise, no." If enough MTs would stand their ground, maybe these companies would realize they have to pay more to get experienced workers. It's ridiculous to expect us to be paid the same wages as a newbie or someone with only a few years of experience.

You are absolutely right! As long as we accept these low wages, nothing will get better. And unfortunately, with TTS and this oncology account, they want and must have excellent MTs because it is a very difficult account, but still they want to pay nothing! I didn't stay because I NEVER made what they were paying me, even when I was starting out in transcription almost 26 years ago!

is the same person posting and then answering, pretty easy to see that. The oncology account in TX has a lot of normals and the docs are pretty good. My guess is the pot stirrer, at some point, may have worked for TTS and was let go. I am quite happy there.

Would you care to share what your line rate is? and what is your guess why they keep running the same ad? If they're so great, why aren't people flocking to work there? I don't work there, I never previously worked there and was let go, I'm just curious as to why they can't fill those positions.

I can honestly say I have never read the ads, much less on an every day basis. Do not know what is there, am not concerned with what is there, just do not care, does not affect me. Why are you so obsessed with their work habits?

Why would you say I'm obsessed just because I asked a couple of questions? I have seen their ads and wondered myself, as I'm sure others have as well, why they keep running the same ad. I saw this thread, read all of the posts, and had some simple questions. I'm hardly obsessed and I don't know what you mean by their work habits. Whose work habits? why they run the ad if you are that concerned. I work there and have no idea if people flock or don't to work there and frankly my dear, I don't give a rat's behind. I have more important things to do that just sit around and wonder about this and that when I am not interested or involved. Bunch of pot stirrers.

the remarks made here. I never made the statement about being happy. I made a statement about people being so obsessed with a place they ask questions like: What is your guess why they keep running the same ad? No one from management takes the time to email, call, write you a letter stating we have 300 job openings, people are leaving (staying) right and left, we are having trouble filling our positions. I think someone is too fixated on this company and if I was that person I would just personally call that office and ask for myself.

This same fight breaks out every few months. Some like working there, some don't. What a waste of energy it is arguing about this stuff. In the future, if you have "why this" and "why that" questions, ask TTS, as they are the only ones with a definitive answer. Happy TTSrs, just skip over the whole topic because we can't win anyway.

Isn't the whole point of having this board for MTs to ask questions and share information? It's not likely we would get answers to "why this" and "why that" from a company... thus, the purpose of MT Stars. No one is trying to "win anyway" and no one is arguing, it's not a contest between who is right and who is wrong, it's not a "fight." Everyone who asks questions has a reason. If you don't want to answer, then don't, simple as that.

it is good to ask questions that are answerable and share information that is factual. What happens with the topic of TTS, over and over again, is speculation, guessing, and insults to posters. Of course, if you ask the company, you're not going to get a straight answer nor are you going to get a factual answer here either. Haven't you seen the multiple similar threads in the past regarding TTS. They all kind of end up the same way, contentious. It calmed down for a bit, but it's starting to heat up again. It's just not a topic/question that produces any reasonable answers.

The problem is that a lot of TTS MTs take these questions as an affront towards them. We all work for S**TTY companies these days and peole are going to ask what they want to ask. You either choose to read and/or answer or just bypass the post. If a person is new to the site, they're not going to know that these questions were asked and answered already, and others either don't know how to or don't want to look in the archives for whatever reason. So my advice, which I also use for myself is if you see a company that your tired of seeing, do yourself a favor and just pass it on by... When it's all said and done, we're not one another's enemies. We're looking for the same thing, a company that compensates us for the work we do and can establish longevity with.

I'm one of those who doesn't come here often, when I do it's to read the Job Seeker's Board. I noticed how often TTS is looking for help, which is usually a red flag for high turnover or some kind of problem with a company. I didn't know this has been discussed already but I can't imagine why anyone would get upset about someone asking questions and calling them pot-stirrers?

those that "like" TTS or managers take your pick, they attack the poster and call them lazy or "unable" to meet standards and are really critical to that person instead of letting them have an opinion. they get very, very defensive and are unfair in their accusations as they have nothing to back it up.... It has been going on for months. Never changes.

My team is required to be signed into a conference in Spark when working our account.  That is not a bad thing, in fact it is quite educational because I am seeing just how ridiculous everything is.  The account is verbatim, you only type a heading if it is dictated.  Someone is worried that the doctor said Procedure for a heading naming the procedure and then later used procedure when beginning the real procedure.  That MT was worried about getting dinged if she changed the ...

I've taken the tests and have been offered a job with Nuance but want to know if the wage offered was the standard wage for Nuance.  I was offered 8 cpl for straight trasncription and 4 cpl for editing.  This would be for clinics only.  I've heard acute care paid more, but I've only ever had clinic experience.  Do they ever offer raises?  They mentioned a bonus program, and I've seen notes on here about people saying they have had problems getting th ...
