TTS New Oncology Account - jasper

Posted: Jan 26, 2015

Hello...Can someone at least tell me what state this new oncology account is in? I fear it may be from a rather large state, close to water, and wonder if my friend's work is going to be siphoned to TTS. Tnx!

Very southern, middle on map, gulf, lots of cowboy hats, famous fight with Mexico.

Do you know what platform? What company do you think it is being taken from?

Thanks!

Bush country, cowboy hats is spot on.

TTS oncology - OKMT

It could very well be their own account. They have their own contracts, as well as subcontracts. I think most of their accounts are their own.

My company does that hospital too. It is my understanding (sm) - Anon

that they have so much work, that their dictation is split between 5 or 6 different services. Not sure though.

Nuance accts - an

They are Nuance accounts. Companies like TTS, Imedat, Saince, and many others subcontract the work from Nuance. Nuance can't get enough people to work for them anymore, so they have to subcontract the work out to other companies. There can be any number of companies working on 1 single account. So you are indirectly working for Nuance. Nuance either buys out these other companies, or buys out the platforms these companies work on and then gets the contracts. All it really accomplishes for the MT is driving the wages down farther as Nuance has to make a profit on the accounts and they do, the subcontracting companies have to make a profit on the accounts, and they do, and then there is the MT who is at the bottom of the pile, just barely getting by. It really is a shame. I am glad the hospitals in this area have wised up, got rid of Nuance, and have decided to bring their transcription work back in house. With EMRs now and the need for less trancriptionists per facility, this is exactly what you are going to see, work being brought back in house. :) Thanks Nuance and all you companies who have decided to get in bed with them!
work back in house - jen

I certainly hope that the work goes back in house. I was just laid off from a hospital where I worked for 13 years and made 24 dollars an hour with benefits and got to work at home. Now I want to continue doing transcription and I'm being faced with working as an IC with no benefits and less than minimum wage. Something is wrong with this picture.
Work back in house. This is so many of our - stories here, same as yours
[ In Reply To ..]
I remember when next to last place outsourced was bringing home over $2,000 every other week, buying stock in the company, etc. Lots of us on here have stories just like yours, no different, big money and then outsourced to making less usually.
I guess that's what it is. I knew it was something like that. - Anon (sm)

They always said one company wasn't big enough to handle all of it.

Oncology Account At TTS

Just wondering if there are any MTs out there who are working on this account for TTS.  Are you doing okay with production?  How are the dictators?  Interested in anything you care to share.  Please don't start the general TTS bashing/defending on this thread.  I am only interested in answers to my questions above and information about the account from MTs working on it.  Thanks in advance.  ...

Just curious how the new oncology account is going at Transtech that started this past week or so.  I worked on this account for the previous service and cannot imagine the work being done with voice rec.  This large facility was loaded with terrible dictators, highly specialized terminology, and individual physicians with their own preferred specifications, let alone the account had detailed and constantly changing specs.  ...
