Merry Christmas from, Web/Nuance - scrooge

Posted: Dec 12, 2011

So nice of them to break the news about a  pay cut right before Christmas.

Merry Christmas from Web/Nuance-scrooge - Very happy worker

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not sure what you do at Nuance, but I have NOT heard anything about a pay cut whatsoever. In fact, just the opposite. Nuance has been extremely generous and very giving to me!

The "opposite" - scrooge

A raise?! Oh please, do share your knowledge so I can quit fretting about how I'll pay my bills that I already can't pay.

I dont see word raise in happy worker post. Is it in - invisible ink that only I cant see? nm

QUOTE: I have NOT heard anything about a pay cut whatsoever. In fact, just the opposite. Gee, call me stupid, but in my mind the opposite of a pay cut would be a raise.
In my mind means ability to earn more: Incentive, OT, - schedule flexiblity. But, yes, I will SM
[ In Reply To ..]
call you stupid. Gotcha a little 'tude, too, huh?
Tude - Scrooge
[ In Reply To ..]
Yep, greedy MTSO's have given me that tude. Come back after the conference call and we'll see who's stupid. You mean the incentive, which we have heard from Nuance employees is based on work which is QA'd incorrectly by Indians? OT? Just what all of us want to do, work longer and more hours to earn the same, if not less. Schedule flexibility? LMAO.
Invisible ink again? Where in my post did I say I - would be on call? Where does it SM
[ In Reply To ..]
say in my post I work for Web/Nuance? You seem to assume a lot.
Invisible ink - Scrooge
[ In Reply To ..]
If you don't work for Web/Nuance, you must be awfully bored bothering to respond to this thread. And if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black, aren't YOU assuming about "incentive, OT, flexible scheduling?"
You dont have to work for the company to respond to - the thread. And I didnt assume SM
[ In Reply To ..]
anything. Just said the one post didnt say she got a raise and IN MY MIND, I thought it could mean the ability to make more money. And I listed the ways that may be possible. I am concerned about your blood pressure.
Please post the info. - readytoretire

The afternoon meeting has been canceled due to "technical" problems. Can SOMEONE please post the specifics? Thanks!
Meeting - Chavera
[ In Reply To ..]
I think I accidentally sent email just now instead of a general reply.

3.75 and 7.5 new pay rate
Incentive biweekly again and starts at 99% rather than 98 something percent.
This is in addition to the recent downgrading of the Aetna insurance where you can't even get a 1,500 deductible anymore. The 2,500 deductible is the same price as the 1,500 used to be. And this is for a single person. I can't afford to cover my children on this insurance.

I am very upset and the company must know we communicate, though they try to isolate us as much as possible. I think the technical problems may have something to do with people who attended the earlier meeting possibly voiding their dismay. I am not sure about this, however. I was planning to attend at 3:30 and am going to check my mail now. :(
Nuance meeting - Chavera
[ In Reply To ..]
oops I meant "voicing their dismay"! I am a little rattled today.

I would hate to see our now pretty large company setting a new lower standard of pay for medical transcriptionists. As far as I am concerned 4/8 is too little. I was actually hoping for a bit of a raise.
The meeting was supposed to be tomorrow - according to my email
[ In Reply To ..]
So how do you know all this about the pay?
Thank you Chavera - readytoretire
[ In Reply To ..]
I just shake my head in amazement. I left MQ then SPi for the "smaller" just to end back up here. How can this continue? I really wish I could afford to retire today.
To the person questioning the meeting being tomorrow, my email was for 10 a.m.and 3:30 p.m.TODAY but I was shut out of the first one, as it was "full".

We need to consider a rolling "sick" week, just to show how non-important we are. (jk)
Thanks, I guess I in denial and hoping somehow - the news was wrong.
[ In Reply To ..]
I see now why the meetings experienced technical difficulties. My guess is the disgust and anger of us workers was something they do not want to deal with. Sort of like how those republican politicians now hate to have town halls so they can avoid answering why they want to end social security and care only about the 1% at the top. This is worse than anticipated. Do you think they planned those insurance hikes so we would opt out or lower our coverage to single to offset the lower pay? I know that is what I have done. Pretty disgusting alright.
OMG ... I don't work for Nuance but this is bad news - for ALL OF US
[ In Reply To ..]
I first want to say I'M SORRY from the bottom of my heart that you all got this news today, just 2 weeks before the holidays. I can't imagine what you all are going through right now and the devastation some of you must feel. Just know you have the support of all of us here and I'm sure I can speak for most of us by saying we're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. For some people, a drop in pay like the one they are planning could make the difference between barely hanging on, or going under financially. I'm a single mom myself who works for Medquist as an MME. I earn just over your wages and just last month I had to go on governmental assistance just to keep a roof over my and my son's head.

This is reeeeeally bad news for the rest of us even if we don't work for Nuance - this sets a new standard now for all the other MTSOs to meet so what used to be a $0.04 cpl wage looks like it will soon be even lowered for the other companies too.

So sorry to all of you. I'm sending you a cyber hug.
wait, are you sure? - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I was at the 10 a.m. meeting, and it looked to me like the cpl rate was staying the same, at 4 and 8, at least for E-Scription -- That's the platform I'm on, so the one I was paying closest attention to. Did I miss something?
Yea, a few weeks ago, I was offered - Astonishing
[ In Reply To ..]
13.50 for QA 2nd shift with Nuance and I just laughed and hung up! Disgraceful!

I am sorry for those getting pay cut. Both Nuance and MQ love to do this crap at holiday time-end of year I suppose!
Assume - Scrooge
[ In Reply To ..]
You thought it could mean the ability BLAH BLAH BLAH. Same thing as assuming, just as I thought the opposite of a pay cut would be a raise. No difference. Obviously, you don't need to work for the company to respond to a thread, but one would wonder why you care. Looking for an argument? I am equally concerned about YOUR blood pressure. This is not normal behavior to continue arguing/responding to a thread which has absolutely nothing to do with you, by your own admission. I will not respond to you again. Please feel free to get the last word in.

There is a troll on this board - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
This person sounds an awful lot like a person who was trolling the Medquist forum last week who tried their best to rile everyone up by posting really inflammatory remarks and responding back with really snippy responses just to piss people off. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same person. I would suggest just ignoring them and letting them argue with themselves because every time we respond, they do too. I think you've handled yourself well and letting the exchange die is the best thing you can do.
Adults here who dont need to be told how to respond to - posts that may be unpopular. nm

I am ashamed to say I fell for this hook, line and sinker. I was really upset to think that they would cut our pay, especially after being them for nearly 4 years. Thankfully, that is not the case and truth be told, the new plans look very positive for me. Thank you Nuance. I appreciate what you do for us. To the OP, please stop posting what you do not know to be accurate.

Merry Christmas From Nuance
Dec 24, 2014

Just got a peek at next pay, the first with the new pay scale. I was astounded to see the pay was the highest I have seen in years! True, I worked my S off to get it, and I realize it can disappear in a flash at the whim of QA,  but in this probably very brief moment I'm going to bask in the glow and hope for the best..... Indeed, Merry Christmas!! ...

Merry Christmas To ME!
Dec 21, 2013

Bwahahaha! I am finally rid of this craphole! Quit right in the middle of my shift 2 nights ago, and I have to tell you.....I feel fabulous. Got the call from my supervisor today saying she would hold off putting my paperwork in on the chance that it was a split second decision and I'm rethinking it now plus the good old "no notice, no rehire" diddy they throw out.  My response: No offense to you in what I say, because you have been a really good supervisor.  It may have been a ...

Merry Christmas -- NJA
Dec 24, 2013

Scheduled to work today and NJA.  No surprise as it happens every year.  Hoping some work trickles in today.  I don't want to sit here all day as well as all you other MT/ME's.  I have tomorrow off and then back on Thursday and Friday with probably no work either.  This paycheck is going to hurt.  Hoping for a sock full of money from Santa.  Ha. Merry Christmas To All! MModal, Take Note On
Dec 25, 2012

Not even a card or word or wish or acknowledgement from my MModal supervisor or QA coach or management.  Not a word that I even existed as I work on this holiday for their company. On the other hand, I work a retail position part time. MModal take note. It didn't cost them much in either money or time. This company had the class to send a real card not an e-card to my home (that was hand signed by every member of management), had a small box of cookies and seasonal coffee fo ...

Jumping Off The MTSO Merry Go Round (sm)
May 11, 2010

A couple of months back I posted my opinion about how things started going south for MTs when we no longer worked directly for the hospitals.  I decided to put my paycheck where my mouth is and started looking.  Lo and behold, practically in my own backyard I found a large hospital group who had been outsourcing everything, but then took it back in house because of poor quality and TAT.  My new job starts in a few weeks.  Great benefits, more leave time than I curre ...

My Christmas Gift

First, I hope those of you who need to hear this will.  I am not by any means saying what I am to hurt anyones feelings, to be mean, to start a ruckus, as a means of causing some to say hateful things, or to seem "better than."  This, however, is something that those of you looking for work and unable to find a position, need to hear.
